This is serious, but I am hoping Sage being an athlete will give him an advantage in recovery.
Pulling for you, Sage!

Wishing for a desirable recovery. All the best.
I learned a lot about VO2Max from this man. He even commented on one of my threads.
Obviously wishing him the best. I think it would be pertinent to discuss whether he had covid or the covid vaccine, which has been associated with blood clotting.
Wow. That is extremely serious. It is shocking that it was missed diagnosed. Probably because he is so fit. I’ve had dvt and a pe. It is no joke, you can very easily die from that.
Hoping for a full recovery for Sage. Also thinking of Sandi Nypaver who's had enough misfortune these past couple years.

If misdiagnosed he is super lucky (and fit). 99.9% of people who get bacterial pneumonia and then a PE would be down on their @ss immediately.
All the best Sage! I hope your recovery will be quick. The beautiful trails are waiting for you!
Holy crap. Hope he is able to recover. I wonder what caused this. Obviously, the cause is usually blood clots but what caused the blood clots. Could a lesson for other presumably healthy runners.
I actually suggested he get a CT scan on Strava when he posted that he couldn't complete a 2-3 mile jog at a 9:00pace. A couple MD's left comments on his YouTube channel urging him to get a second opinion ASAP. I've had pneumonia and several running buddies had pneumonia over the years, and I have never heard of anyone going from 100+ MPW to being unable to jog 2 miles a month later, with sharp pain to boot.
I'm glad he's getting the care he needs and hopefully he will eventually make a full recovery from this. The misdiagnosis really friggin sucks as well :( Good luck Sage
Damn. Get well soon Sage!

I'll get it out of the way. Yes, blood clots are a well known side effect of Covid-19, however, he was pretty clear that he did not have Covid-19 and he was tested, so this is something else. They definitely need to look into it though - this is very serious medical condition (up to 1/3 die if untreated) especially for a young healthy person who does not meet any of the normal risk factors.
Take care, Sage. All the best.
Really long runs can be a risk factor for PE since you've got dehydration alongside damage to the blood vessels. Travel is the other big one (besides birth control, which he obviously wouldn't be taking).

Very serious condition. I hope you get well soon Sage!
Wishing Sage the best and a quick recovery! PEs are no joke and serious.
It would be really nice if people didn't use this thread to talk about vegan diets or covid vaccines or whatever other rampant speculation you might have. It's nice to hear from actual doctors but from others it just seems insensitive. I know it's asking a lot for this forum.
This is effed.
Best of luck to Sage.💪💪
Higher altitudes lead to physiological changes that may predispose to VTEs, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
All the best to Sage!
Get well soon Sage!!
Can someone in the Boulder area please get him a tablet so he can make sure to check in on this thread? I mean, I know he's got a potentially serious health issue, but come on, the LetsRun message boards are important, too!
Thoughts and prayers for you Sage
