“Iten is comparable to bolder, Flagstaff or Paipa, Columbia, a place where runners from all over the world gather to train. It is simply the chosen place by Kenyans to live and train.
Most of the athletes training in Iten are not originally from the town, they are from all over Kenya and the world and they go for long periods of time to train, some have decided to stay and make it in their home, while others go back and forth to see their families when they get an opportunity.

The main training structure is: Tuesday and Thursday workout, Saturday long run and Sunday off, everything in between is mostly recovery runs. The workouts consist of fartleks and track days, usually you can find big groups of hundreds + runners out there doing fartlek on Tuesday.”
