What a run. Should she should try to double in Tokyo
Big negative split.
In a slow race, none of the 800 specialists are going to touch her (remember I claim slow races help the milers more than the 800 types).

Schedule:
800 heat - July 30 Morning
800 semi - July 31 Evening
1500 heat - Aug 2 Morning
800 final - Aug 3 Evening
1500 semi - Aug 4 Evening
1500 final - Aug 6 Evening
I know she's young and completely untested, but we've seen Athing Mu run a 60/57 type 800 just this year. Jemma Reekie has shown some pretty strong chops kicking off a slow pace in the 800. I think this field was a little weaker on kickers than she'd face potentially. That being said, I'd give her a good chance to medal in the 800 if she opted for the double. But I'd probably do the same for Laura Muir.
What a run, damn if she holds this form I don't see anyone touching her in the 1500... except maybe Gudaf Tsegay. Although has she been running since early Spring?
Her splits are out.
60.8, 57.5 (29.8, 27.7)

I think you're overstating and over dramatizing a win against some 2nd tier 800 runners. Or at least tier 1B runners.
I think Faith can run 1:56 low or even 1:55 high if she ran the 800m seriously like at least 3 races in a season. I say this because remember she closed the last 800m of the 1500m race in Rio Olympics in 1:57:xx! She did the same in 2017 world championships in London. So her time today is not really spectacular but an indication that she is in tiptop 1500m shape.
Mu will take it. The further into the season, the less doubt I got.
Wilson washed up, Goule doesn't show anything special either...
I think Mu will rip a nice 1:56 when it counts the most.
Why is Jakob avoiding Timothy???

A because he raced last week lol and B I would avoid him too
Faith Kipyegon is a bit of hype.
I have seen her apparitions in World Championship / OG : 2012 to 2015
She was quite modest, and far from being a prodigy.
She had already 3:56:98 in 2013 and ranked 5 in the World Championship 2013:
Was against a typical semifinal heat, she ran the same time as last 800m of her 1500m gold in Rio. A lot of those Girls Are still early in their season and wont peak for a while
I like her chances in the 800 better than the 1500. She should definitely run both.
You still have Mu in the 800 and anything distance Hassan runs I wouldn’t bet against her.

Yes, not exactly top competition. Nice time but Kipyegon ran it like a 1500 runner with negative split. Real 800 runners positive split. Can Kipyegon go out in 57 and close in 60? Don't think so. The 800 and 1500 rounds overlap so that double is impossible.
I would have loved to see another confrontation Sifan vs Kipyegon in the 1500m.
On paper Hassan has better endurance and potential in the 1500m.
Kipyegon even failed to lose the second place in the final 1500m Doha 2019 face to the other endurance Tsegay.
In anyway, I consider 2021 as the year of truth for Sifan Hassan. If her level regress notably, strong questions will be asked.
she only ran... 14:35 the other week? She's fine

For real. We get so much talk about Jakob and the up and coming Africans right now that Tim C winning the 1500 every time he steps onto the track at major meet kind of just gets glossed over
Why did Tim avoid Jakob at Gateshead? Tea money goes further in Doha?
But seriously, does anyone know when they will race?
