She didn't run a bad race today I think (8 seconds off her PR without much training), but she clearly needs to be a lot faster to make the Olympic team based off of today's results. I'm less optimistic about her chance at making the team now, mostly because I didn't realize how many athletes there are in the 9:20s. I think at least one of those athletes will beat Quigley at the trials.
Are the results posted anywhere?
Who said it has anything to do with her age?
But Mel Lawrence isn't and hasn't been a factor in steeplechase for a long time.

I'm wondering if Wayment will be kind of fried from the collegiate season though? She definitely is fast, but it's hard to be on top of your game from college indoors to Trials in one year
Bryce hoppel lasted all year until the Doha final which was in September

Where is that coming from? PR at age 31. She is my all-time favorite comeback story to have lost so many years of training and end up making the Trials finals in 2016 and I am sure she will be in the top 8 this year. Go Mel!
Allie has a big heart and plenty of talent, but it will be hard for her to find the speed needed in the next three weeks to make the team. Those who have had a solid buildup with no injures will likely be able to snag that third spot. It is doubtful Colleen will be able to perform at a high level without any races under her belt before the Trials.
Colleen 10% chance of making team.
Allie 5% chance of making team.
I think they can both make it
Doesn't seem like she has been able to get the training in this year because of injuries.
On her videos every time she gets on a trail her face lights up. Wish she would just switch to trails because that is where her heart seems to be. She was a Junior World Champion there already.
If she sticks to the track for another Olympic cycle, her coach should get her training off the track and pavement and onto the trails she loves. Totally possible to train with just a few track days. But if you hire a track coach you are going to spend all your time on the track.

I enjoy watching all her YouTube content and find her very engaging, but the USA is so deep that loads of incredible runners won't make it to the Olympics - what are her chances?
when it comes to qualifying, it all comes down to finishing speed... her chances this time around are nil... I'd bet a paycheck on it ;-)
It won't come down to finishing speed. The steeple is 3000 meters which means good 1500 speed is necessary. Her PR of 4:15 is not fast enough for her to keep contact with the leaders of the race. She only has a chance if it turns out her 1500 PR is soft and she's really capable of about 4:05.
