Why does Timothy Cheruyiot look so old?

As far as I'm aware, he never competed in any junior championships, so his age is irrelevant.

Why do people call him Mackdaddy?

If I had to guess I'd probably say it has a lot to do with his diet. Most Runners probably under eat and I feel like that can make them look a little older. When is career is over maybe he'll start eating a little bit more food and look a little healthier / younger.

Liar. Back in the 1960s Tim was my teacher in primary schon. HE must be in his early 90s now and he has aged extremely well I think.

It looked like the exact way that Jakob wins, except Timothy is better so he can pull away a bit more in the last 100. You realize running the last 200-300 in the front or around it with a little extra saved for the last 100 is how most 1500 runners have picked up wins for years.

It’s common in East Africa to not know your age, not have correct birth certificates, not talk about your age, not have birthday parties (except maybe a bucket of water poured on you). Some people just pick a number that suits them and get the documentation ad hoc.
