I'm racing a mile in 10 days and I'm hoping for sub 4:07. My PRs are 3:47 in the 1500 and 1:53 in the 800 and I run distance events well too. Any ideas for workouts for my last few days sharpening up? I was thinking something like:
10 days out
3x800, 200, 200 w/ 200 jog rec and 3 minutes between sets. 2:12, 2:08, 2:04 and 28-30 sec for 200s
7 days out
8x400 w/ 90 sec rest in 61-62
3 days out
8x150 w/ 2:30 rec in ~19 sec float effort
Critique my ideas, maybe switching in for a ladder workout? I have raced a lot this season and have already overcooked the legs some so don't want to do to much volume and have myself feeling dead on the line.
