What a performance. I believe this was done in old victories from what it looked like on the broadcast

Looked like Mamba Vs to me. Who could've guessed the super spikes are not as important as rojo would have you believe?
we have also seen superlative performances on the roads from guys in adidas. lends credence to the fellas who are saying the better times are due to longer and better training, etc.
there is a lot of information out there right now. runners and coaches are taking advantage.
were there pacing lights?? To me, that is the biggest unfair advantage that needs to go.
Didn't see pace lights but iirc they talked about it for Cheptegei later so I assume they were there? Yeah black Mamba 5's to me, impressive af
Yes you may be right about the Mambas. Either way, not done in the new "super shoes". Perhaps we need to give more credit to athletes and less to the shoes these days
No pacing lights...split 13'27 and 13'06, so that seems doubtful.
God he lapped so many good athletes that s disgusting.
26'40" won't cut it for medalling in Tokyo maybe...Mo?
Wow. So looks like the doping has gone to hyper-level!

Not really , they were running those times 25 years ago
I would say the barriers to 26-30 were mostly mental when 27-30 was fast
26:30 should be routine at this point. The WR should be 25:50-ish.

That's what canova said , that bekele could have gone much faster at 10
Not sure about 25:50 but 26 should be attainable eventually
No.
The real barriers were very few athletes w <3:52 mile speed focusing on the 10000 and also the fixation with long slow distance in place of work.
Mills started the trend back towards quality + miler speed applied to long distance.
In 1964 he ran guys doing nearly twice the volume straight into the ground.
Now you don't win anything without 22-23s 200m capability and quality work in the training.
what if all his training was in super spikes to keep his legs fresher during training? harder/longer etc

rojo will just say he could have run 26:10 or something if he wore super spikes.

I’m sure it was and it paid off great to see an athlete taking advantage of the technology given
Do you the splits km by km for Kiplimo? Crazy second part of the race and performance.
What a prodigy: better than Ingebrigsten on 3,000m and Kandie on half marathon... He will be better than Cheptegei in Tokyo in my opinion !!

Yeah it's funny how all these Ugandans have suddenly emerged. The pimping agents are going there looking for talent to dope so the agents can steal a large cut of athletes money.
You are a joke. Did you see and actually hold his shoe in your hand and see with your eyes up close? It's no secret that companies like Nile alter shoes for athletes. If you don't know this then you shouldn't be talking about footwear in competitions. More than likely it was a mamba but had either carbon plate or added heal cush with extremely responsive foam (more than the pair for sale). Nike has altered shoes for their athletes since the beginning of their dominance. In today's world, our sport would need to adopt similar protocols to cycling (xray bikes before start) to assure companies/athletes are following prototype and carbon/stack height rules.
kicked out of kenya, the heat is on in ethiopia, so hey lets just set up EPO shop in uganda. when this place gets too many coevett posts they will move to tanzania or south sudan or malawi...or any other place near the equator that has 8000ft elevation.

Lol, dude chill. You can clearly see the are stock mamba Vs in photos from the race. No cushioning added. The only difference Nike could have possibly added (which I highly doubt) is a small carbon shank in the shoe. Which wouldn't hardly make a difference since the Mamba V already has a pebax plate and carbon shanks/plates in spikes has been a feature of Nike spikes and other brands since 2008.
The truth is Kiplimo ran a superb time in normal spikes and no one can blame the shoes. This was all Kiplimo and can be compared to the all time 10k list without and asterisk due to shoes
