I am a 17 year old. My 5k pr is 20:55 and I want to run a sub 19 5k by the start of cross country season which starts in mid august. I have about 10 weeks to get it done.
I am currently returning from an injury so my mileage is really low but I have been running about 30-35 mpw since the end of last xc season, but that has been very inconsistent. I want to run sub 19 for the 5k by cross country season. I am willing to train consistently and do whatever needs to be done.
My mile PR is 6:01 and my 5k pr is 20:55, all from last fall. I do not think I have gotten much better since then, so just assume that I would run similar times if I were to TT right now.
How should I go about achieving my goal time by the start of cross country? More miles, more speed stuff? I don't know where to start so any advice is appreciated. I have 10 weeks to work with if that info helps
