Hi there, interesting situation here. I've been an injury-prone runner for a while. Over the past decade or so, (which included lots of PT, changing footwear, and prehab) I've come to the conclusion that to run consistently I can do 3 miles, twice a week, on a treadmill.
The interesting thing is I have a lot of flexibility with 2 of those miles. The first needs to be a 6:00-7:00 pace, but after that I can get after it for 2 miles, or 4x800, or 8x400...without much of a limit on speed, except for the 14mph cap on the treadmill.
With these constraints, and just running for fun (no team or races), what would you do? Switch between 8's and 4's, with a goal of breaking 10:00 for 2 miles? A fast mile? Try to slowly ramp up until I can run a 5k (likely get injured in this process)?
Just wondering how others would think about this, thanks
