Salomon Pulsar midsole durability

Midsole durability is definitely the weak point of the shoe.

After 50 km the midsole kind of settled in and I actually preferred it.

After 100 km feeling less lively, but OK.

After 200 km blisters, can't use them for anything beyond 30 km.

The other issue is the upper. I enjoyed it at first, but it's highly restrictive and I hate having them on my feet for more than 2 hours. Kind of like rock climbing shoes.

They're working for Max King.. he just won a Goldent Ticket at Canyons in the Pulsar, which I thought was insane because for me it is definitely a shorter distance speed/racing shoe. He must have crushed it down to feel more like a traditional racer.. then again, Max is a freak.

This is what I was afraid of. Sounds like midsole is pretty done a little over 100 miles then? Not getting 300-400 miles out of them?

I saw Salomon is about to release the Ultra Glide with an energy surge midsole so was hoping if they were bringing out more shoes with this similar midsole maybe the foam actually held up ok, but maybe not.

I am not real surprised Max King would wear them for longer races, he always wore SLAB Sense shoes which lots of people say they cannot use as a long distance shoe. But he's sponsored and can probably just get a new pair for every race I imagine.

I'd wait for more than one person to give feedback before making decisions.

I got 100 miles out this shoe before it went flat. Mesh upper also stretched a bit and when sweat dried did not restore it's shape at all. This is the Salomon Mayfly. If you don't mind dropping the coin, then do it but I wouldn't have high durability expectations.

New Salomon Ultra Glide will have the same Energy Surge foam.

Hoping it will be more durable than the Pulsar...
