Is it weird that I'm faster in the jr version? I'm regularly knocking out sub 3min pace in the tempos but alphas seem to be harder. I'm even considering racing a half in them over the alphas (sub 1:15 pace).
Anyone with me?
Also at 400km (approx 250mi) they still feel totally fresh - what mileage is anyone else seeing?
I returned the Next% Tempo after 3 runs in them. For me they felt too heavy on the feet, and the efficiency only worked when you're smack on top of the the air pod. I'm a forefoot striker but I found the pod just too big and too firm.
I still prefer the VF Next% for fast running.
The Tempo is slightly easier to run in than the Alphafly for me, I think the super narrow midfoot and lower drop make the Alphafly more challenging to master. It's got cushion for days and is incredibly protective/bouncy, slightly more so than the Tempo. It's also faster shoe but I need to be a better/stronger runner to use it more regularly.
The Tempo is definitely underrated. You'll see heel strikers try to use it on their everyday type plodding runs and come away hating it, when that's not the intended purpose of the shoe. For me, I'm getting paces not far off what I do in the Vaporfly Next at comparable effort.
Second this. I have enjoyed the Tempo for faster paced workouts as well as long runs.
