Hi,
At a lost to find a watch that gives the usual time, distance, pace but that also gives you your speed.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

I think all of them probably do... usually an option to view as pace or speed.
Just change the display screens settings on your Garmin you silly goose.
Ha, thanks. I have a Tomtom and it doesn't.
This is why paying attention in middle school math is important
every garmin i have ever owned has given mph or kph. I prefer to use these instead of pace. gives me math problems to work out in my head while i run.
though honestly i am probably on the heart rate screen 99% of the time.
Why is this needed? All runners use pace instead of speed.
If your watch doesn't have it, then memorize some basics and extrapolate.
10:00 = 6 miles an hour
7:30 = 8 miles and hour
6:00 = 10 miles an hour
5:00 = 12 miles an hour
4:00 = 15 miles an hour
60/pace = miles an hour
Speed is the reciprocal of pace. Easy mental calculation.
Eh, no they don't. I'm much more interested in speed than pace.
Also, when I run on a treadmill, it only gives speed, not pace. So, for consistency, I want speed when I'm road running.
pretty much any Garmin model gives you the option
That's good to know, many thanks.
Get someone to drive the car beside you and call speeds, you'd have your own commentary!
On any garmin, if you make the activity a bike ride instead of a run, it will give you speed in mph instead of minutes per mile. After the run you can edit the activity to be a run instead of a bike I’m pretty sure. Though you probably won’t get metrics like cadence.
This would work on the TomTom also, unless you had an early non-multisport model.
