12x200 with 90 seconds rest. I did a 200 jog on the rest and stood for the remaining time. Went 28, 29, 30, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 28. Felt extremely difficult.

There’s possibility for sub 2 there.
I’d say 1:58-2:03 depending on endurance and lactic tolerance.
Interesting, I’m new to 800 training so I hope sub 2 is in the cards.
I ran an extremely similar workout before running 2:29 in the 1k. However it was very smooth and relaxed for me, rather than extremely difficult. So maybe sub-2:00 for you.
1:59, or 1:56 with an AIRWAVVE mouthpiece.
i think that's sub-2
i ran 2:00 and i think i only could have done that workout if i got full standing rest
by that i mean stand or skip around for the full 90 seconds, not like full recovery
whats your 5k pr?
Back when I ran, I did:
14 x 200m @ 28-high average
About the same rest. Felt tougher towards the end but overall 8/10. Key is to run fast under pressure.
Ran a 1:56 and probably could've run a 1:54-high in a good race.
You're def good for sub-2.
Not enough info unfortunately. 200m workouts are good for fitness but are too short to be able to accurately predict times. However, since you describe this workout as "very difficult" I would bet you are in 2:01-03 shape, but I would not be surprised if you were outside of that range by a couple of seconds either way
16:00
i think you can go sub-2
update: ran 1:57.7
knew I could do it after 2x 1, 2, 4, 2,1 in 13.5, 27, 56, 27, 14, 5 minutes rest, 13.5, 28, 57, 28, 13 with 1 minute standing between reps.
Thanks all
200m repeats are not a reliable indicator of 800 speed. Energy systems used are significantly different. 800 is more than twice as dependent on aerobic respiration compared to 200. 200 speed also depends on turnover ability, which can be mostly intrinsic. Two runners with the same 800m speed could have much different 200m times. That said, 2:00 could be doable.

200 reps are not reliab
Dang! Should have read the whole thread... did I say 2:00? I meant 1:57.7...
