Also forgot to add that to get this record with so many negatives going against me is really cool.
I calculated all of the negatives that night.
They were.
1. I ran this PR a full 8 pounds heavier than my ideal running body weight of 206-210 in July-November of 2020.
2. I never get personal records this early in the year. I usually don't get my PRs till Oct and Nov on any given year due to the way my training program is designed.
3. I'm about 20lbs off of my max potential in hack squats per body weight ratio. Meaning that my PR at body weights of around 215 in hack squats is 475. I'm right at 455 right now paused at the bottom of an Icarian hack squat machine with no knee wraps. I get exactly 80lbs more up at the top of the mat but no longer do top of the mat hack squats. So whatever I get at the bottom add in 80lbs to what I could get at the top. So a 455 becomes 535 at the top and a 475 becomes a 555 at the top paused.
4. I never get PRs in cold temps of 62 or below. I need 93 degrees and humidity.
5. I ran this after the gym. I usually never get PRs after the gym due to being too tired after the gym.
6. I had zero wind. Usually to get anywhere near my PRs I need some type of tail wind. Usually it's over the limit but whatever, I never run into head winds. I test the wind before each run and usually have to switch sides 5 to 6 times during some workouts.
7. I didn't come out of the start good on both 35 attempts. My form is usually never near perfect this time of the year due to taking off usually all winter for sprinting.
8. I'm 41 and i'm now literally running somewhere like .46 of a second faster than my average times in this in 2015. And doing this 100 percent natural. No steroids or anything ever.
9. I did way too many 10 and 20 yard dash warmups in this. I wasn't even thinking about running 35s till I saw how fast my 10s and 20s were going. Then decided to attempt a 35 seeing that I was near PRs in both the 10 and 20.
The only positive I can think of was that my calves are getting alot stronger. Power to weight ratio is going way up on calves and hips. That and I closed the captains of crush 2.0 hand device the other day for like only the 5th time ever.
I ran 6.94 in the 60 last year hand timed and 6.97 a d 6.97 but all of those runs were done when I was around 3.78 to 3.87 speed in the 35 I think. I don't think I ever got a good chance to run the 60 when I was at 3.69 speed last year because I was only running the 60 literally like 1 time per month on average.
If I can get my 35 down to 3.44 or in the mid to upper 3.4 range to 3.58 range consistently then I don't see any reason why I couldn't do a 6.72 to 6.83 hand time in the 60. IF I did a 6.72 hand time in the 60 then that is right around a 7.47 FAT in the 60 after adding in my standard .76 to my runs which then is right around 11.48 FAT in the 100. Which means I should be able to run a hand timed 100 exactly .76 of a second subtracted from the 11.48 FAT which comes out to a 10.72 hand time. My fastest hand time ever was 11.32 from 2013 which is a 12.08 FAT.
I'm also being reserved with these times which is why i'm adding in a full .76 to each time. Blocks would give me a decent advantage but i'm not adding in that factor because I don't want to be over estimating these hand times so i'm doing a bit of an under statement.
Really need though a 9 foot 1 or 9 foot 2 PR in the broad jump. Going to see if I can get that in the next few weeks.
