nah he done
3:28.07 pace if he can just extend it to 1500.
the biggest news is that he actually showed up and ran
i got good intel that hocker has centrowitz on per diem
There are high schoolers who are faster. He’s done.
Scrubs try to doubt this dude that legit always comes up with the money when the time calls for it.
Would not doubt Centro to time a nice little peak for the trials.
No doubt he doesn't have a 1:44 in his legs like a few years back. But I think he could pop a 1:45 peaked. So this is 5 seconds off what he could run. Reasonable for a 1500m guy.
Even 800m guys will routinely open their season like 4 seconds behind their SB.
Hope he recovers. Would be sad if his legacy is having run his best years under Salazar.
I wouldn't count him out entirely, but he seems like a longshot to do anything other than back into the Olympics if nobody steps up, and then go out early. I just haven't seen the fire since he won gold -- in what was one of the greatest American middle distance performances of my lifetime.
He really hasn't done well in like 2 years.
We keep stretching the numbers for him and make excuses for him. He acts the part; looks the part. Just no carrying zip of 5 years ago.

It's kind of crazy how his crappy years after the olympics involved him making the WC team in the 1500 and still winning the USA championships in 2018. This is how dominant he's been in the 1500m in the USA for 9 years or so. I wish I could have terrible years and still make a world championship team and win a USA championship. Well even if he is done he has the legacy of the best American miler. But never count out Centro! He's only 31. Kind of on the older side, but I believe he can have a mini revival in his career down the road a la Nick Willis. If not oh well it is what it is.
He ran 13 flat for 5K not that long ago! Are we joking here?
I agree though...this looks bad. However, I can't believe his fitness is terrible. Everyone here who has competed in college knows how slow you might run with a couple rust busters. 2 months is a long time if he stays healthy.

"Best years under Salazar" ⬅︎ Put the thinking cap on buddy. You're the only one that hasn't figured it out.

He's also been doing almost 100% 5k work with BTC. I think he's just dipping his toe back into faster stuff now. Hopefully he carries that 5k fitness with him as he sharpens up.
Lots of respect to him for willing to be somewhat humiliated like this. A lot of people in his position just wouldn't race at all.

Cretins spraying the board all day, wanting to take some scalp from the reigning olympic champ...
I'm not a Centro fanboi, but you NEVER bet against a winner:
He's proven his ability to deliver at 1500m for the last decade.
He's proven his ability to gain fitness, despite sub-par spring results.
He's proven his ability to perform when it counts.
People want to pretend that Hocker, Cole, et al are the second coming of Christ for USA mid-D after dropping hot times in Feb. They will surely produce and maybe have a Centro-like future to come, but hot times in Feb/March do not guarantee the farm in June/July.
bye bye to the dooche

That’s peculiar phrasing for the one guy you named. I will say this: I was blind and crippled until Cole Hocker laid his hands upon me. Now check me out, I’m kickass.
I actually agree with this post. We've all had the ocassional bad race every now and then, it can happen to pro's too!
Every now and then I have an awful race where I can't get anywhere near the pace I should be capable of, as I'm sure we all do.
Your move, Hocker.

He was doping.
