Who will win Gatorade national and state level cross country runner of year awards tomorrow?
I would bet on Wolfe and Hutchins for the National award as they won the biggest national meet, plus Hutchins ran the sub 16 time. Not to say that Thorvaldson doesn't deserve some consideration though.
The state awards are out (https://playeroftheyear.gatorade.com/winner/state). Looks like the national awards for cross country won't be announced for another week.

Well I was wrong, they gave the girls award to Thorvaldson.
It seems they rewarded Thorvaldson for finding more races against top competition.
Looks like only Molly Seidel has won both the national Gatorade award and NCAA cross country nationals.
Wtf is a "cross country player?"
Thank God Gatorade got it right!!!! This was an easy pick. I said back when MileSplit did their preseason rankings that they got it right picking Thorvaldsen #1. Of coarse throughout the season Milesplit went with where the wind was blowing and kicked her out of #1 and picked their beloved Texas queen Brown and quickly left her with the wind of Hutchins’ National record that was only a record in time........anyone with a brain knows Tuohy really owns the record. Tuohy’s time was on a very hard course, and she would have run at least a 15:45 or faster time on that cupcake course Hutchins ran.! Sorry for that little trip down that rabbit hole, but the truth had to be said.
Anyway, it was obvious when Thorvaldsen destroyed Brown at the National meet in Texas....that Hutchins would have had the same fate as Brown.
Congratulations to Thorvaldsen for her amazing season, and clearly being the best distance runner this year!!!!!! She will have a great college career as well. Arkansas got the best recruit out of this class and the next, not BYU!!!!
Sorry messed up on placement of my comment
Did you see where she says she has an injury? That is one more girl who will not break 9:40 for 2 miles in HS (or even 4:40 for 1 mile I think). Both of those are way harder than people think.
who won best gatorade flavor? i hope it was yellow.

She was limping after her adidas Indoor National 2-Mile win in late February. Rumor was a stress reaction or possible stress fracture in her foot. Hope that is wrong and it is something less severe.

Yes, thank God! I heard an audible collective sigh of relief from all over America when the results were announced. The Wyoming National Guard was standing by ready to deal with the anticipated riots by the radical anarchists in Wyoming if she didn't get chosen. I've been unable to sleep for the last few weeks worrying myself to death that they might not choose Thorvaldson. Been drinking Pepto-Bismol like it's water. Hopefully my stomach ulcer can now begin to heal.
Seems very debatable. It seemed clear to me that Weini Kelati was the best runner in 2015, but Katie Rainsberger won the Gatorade award. Kelati was a lot better in college and pretty definitely made that clear during her time at New Mexico. So we'll see what happens when Hutchins et al. get to college (I would bet on Hutchins because she's going to be coached by Diljeet Tayor). Oh, and hate to break it to you, but Hutchins has the record. It doesn't matter what someone else "would have" run. It only matters what they did run
Mia Barnett already did a 4:43.11 first try the most underrated athlete out there.
And the teenage girl fanboy is back!!!! So worried about putting kids down, so the posters on his wall are still relevant in his mind! Keep up the strong work. THANK GOD your opinion only means something in your deranged head.

Well I got 1 out of 2 right. I see Parker Wolfe won the boys award.
