Hey Runners:
Sorry to see this shoe retired... .I would be interested to hear what might be a suitable replacement; that is, responsive, light, no plate... thanks

Hoka Mach 4. Better upper and shoe all around.
Thanks; I have heard it is a great shoe
Was a big fan of the Pegasus 35's. I went from the Peg turbo's--> Pegasus 35's and was actually a big fan of those.
Mach 4 is not a comparable shoe at all. I would not recommend going that route.
I can firmly say it is very hard to find a comparable shoe to the peg 35 turbo and Turbo 2.
If you really love them, you should just pick some up new off eBay. Generally, they are very well priced.
I have 2 brand new pairs of 35 Turbo’s waiting in my closet for when my current ones are retired.
If you insist on trying a new shoe, you might like the Saucony endorphin speed or Brooks Hyperion Tempo although they are wider in the forefoot and toe box.
Yes the Mach 4 is very comparable. It reminds me more of the original Pegasus Turbo with the soft upper. Both shoes are dual density foam. You sink into the soft top layer, with a firmer density bottom layer that’s responsive. The Mach 4 is simply a better shoe though.

I like the Mach 4, but it’s not a comparable feeling shoe to the Peg Turbo 2. The foams are completely different. Peg Turbo 2 is a much faster feeling shoe.
OP, I’ve warned you!
Should really look at new Under Armour shoe called the Velociti Wind. Very nice upper, more comfort than the peg turbo 2 but the bottom is similar as it’s equally if not more responsive. I get that it’s under Armour, but it really is a good shoe.
Under Armour Velociti Wind. I understand that it’s not Nike, but still a very good shoe. Very comfortable yet extremely responsive, and no plate. Good daily trainer.
The new Asics Magic Speed.
Puma Liberate Nitro
Thanks very much; those two are on my list, so your endorsement is helpful!
I actually haven't tried the Invincible, but it's ZoomX, just a bit more of it. So, heavier but probably similar bounce/feel aside from the extra 2-3ozs.

I love the invincible. It feels incredibly bouncy and responsive.
That being said, it doesn’t feel anything like the Turbo and it is much larger / heavier.
It is a super fun shoe and if you want to try it, you should.
However, they have given me a bit of knee pain which I have never had before.
It would be a nice counter to use on easy days.

Or maybe the Deviate Nitro? The upper is very similar if not identical to the Turbo 2. Can someone compare them with the Pegasus Turbo? They seem very soft and bouncy with the plate.
https://youtu.be/8_ZQqXnwamQReebok Floatride Run Fast is almost identical on paper. The Reebok has a layer of EVA foam on top of the pebax, so it feels a lot firmer, but you get a similar type of energy return. And these shoes are almost always on sale (they're on version 3 now, but I don't think they've changed much since v1). Definitely worth a try IMO, though if you want something squishy you might be disappointed.
I haven't tried it yet, but the new Nike Invincible might be another possibility. Not quite as light, but some people seem to like it for going faster.
The Reebok Floatride Run Fast is definitely similar on paper in terms of construction, but overall firmer and more stable. The EVA layer on the Run Fast seems firmer than the react layer on the Turbo and the full rubber outsole also contributes to it being firmer. Has good energy return, but not as noticeable as the the Turbos. The first version is the best in my opinion. It is the lightest and most comfortable upper. Later versions are similar but have some differences in feel and how they run.
As for Puma Liberate and Deviate Nitro, the Liberate seems closer to the Turbo due to its weight, softness of foam and not having a plate. The Deviate is much heavier and has a plate. I have not run in the Deviate, but I have a pair of the Liberate. IMO a similar feel to the Turbo. I like the fit of the upper better on the Liberate and it is a tad wider. The only issue with the Liberate is the padding on the back of the shoe can rub and cause irritation in the back ankle achilles area.
after 4 pairs of the turbo, I tried out the Skechers razor 3. It wasn't necessarily super similar to the turbo and the low drop (4 cm?) took a tiny bit of time to get used to. But if you're looking for a light, bouncy, fast shoe this is the shoe for you!
Im on board with the razor 3 suggestion. They have a few different ones to pick from now as well(razor excess, razor 3+, trail).
Also just got the Puma Deviate as well and it is a real winner. Big fan of that shoe, but for the price I have picked up a few Peg turbos off ebay and razors for cheap as well. Puma better than the Skechers, maybe (maybe) better than the turbo.
The Razor 3+ is a solid shoe. It seems to be similar to the Turbo in terms of softness and energy return, but the drop is much lower. It is only 4 mm. So might take some getting used to the change in drop.
