i've long been a doubter she could be an elite miler but plenty happy if she keeps proving me wrong.

So far she is proving you right
This is supposed to be good?
she does like 35mpw and this was a literal dual meet
i thought she'd do a lot worse
She will run under Houlihan's 3:54.99 American Record in the 1500 before her career is through. She is a MAJOR TALENT/THE REAL THING
Not surprising a 1:58 runner can run 4:35 for the mile
All 800m runners are not equal. She ran the 400 at NCAA’s for Christ’s sake. And her final lap indicates she could go much faster. When was the last time a 400m all American was in contention for the 1500m title?? At USA’s in 2019 she died after 600m, this indicates a huge improvement in strength. Texas A&M knows what they are doing
This result is really good. In fact it's amazing, for an 400/800 runner. Will she ever be elite at 1500? Probably not, but she is certainly in the mix right now to be an all-american in any event 400-1500. Is it shocking to see a 1:58 runner run 4:16? Not really.

If/When she decides to focus on the 1500 she will run faster than the Current American Record of 3:54.99 MINIMUM. She is a SPECIAL ATHLETE and I mean that in a good way.

For context, Jordan Hasay’s PR was 4:14.50 at the same age (18 yrs, 10 mos), and she was the HSR holder back then (I know Jordan ran this time as a 16 yo, but she didn’t better it until 4:10 her sophomore year at UO). So... yeah. 4:16 is not bad for a “speed type” 800m specialist.

Correct. Linden Hall just ran a 1:59 and a 3:59. This 4:16 is a yawn. Hobbyjogger territory.
Impressive result. Bodes well for her upside and endurance for rounds.
whats her 400
This is a 400-800 runner who is on low mileage and moving up. If Linden Hall could run like 52 second 400 she would be giddy and it’d be a notably impressive off-event result like this. But she probably can barely break 55 if at all. 4:16 for Mu is nice.
That's great and all but that would be equal to Hall not running a 52 but running a 56 and the crowd going wild. Wth?
It’s the fastest junior time so far this season, with a good finish. Some people are always wanting to criticize.

That is incredible. What does that convert to for 1500... 3:58?

A 4:16 1500 is worth a 53.2 400 according to World Athletics tables but keep up with your nonsense.
Nothing special about this performance!
4:16 for a 400/800 athlete at Athing's level at most just says her conditioning is good. It is kind of like sub-10 100m sprinter running an early season 47x quarter.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
