Have they lit the giant olympics torch yet?
There were dozens of screaming fans at the inaugural meet yesterday. For most events there will probably be at least several hundred! Do they have to light the torch only for the really big meet with 20,000 fans, coaches, officials and family members? Assuming that one really big meet actually happens.
I think instead they should light that torch for EVERY meet. You built the damn thing, fire it up.
Now, only if they could figure out what to do with all the riffraff, homeless hippies, bike thieves, meth-heads, and lefty commie professors in Eugene.

A few hundred mil and it doesn't seem complete. It goes a little less than 80% of the way around. There's a huge gaping missing section. One end is just open!
