I don’t know but I do think it’s funny that flotrack reposts this same video with the same title every year.
Definitely the greatest hs 800, I don't how someone could disagree with the title
Nope. How about a solo 1:46? The video below was posted by the guy who ran it. It seems to be the only one around, but the videographer was filming the laggers. So, the video sucks because the winner was way far ahead.

i mean great performance but 3 guys all running 1:48 in high school in one race. U just don't get that excitement.
Also I don’t get how Drew Hunter can run 1:48 in high school which only one person has done since all 3 of them did it and then now be known as a guy w zero closing speed.

Raw speed and Strength are two different things.

If 1 guy running 1:46 solo is not as impressive as 3 guys all running 1:48 in the same race then it must be true that 4 guys running 1:50 in the same race is more impressive than any of those faster races? That is "Hejendo76's" argument--the slower and closer the runners at the tape the more exciting the race is.

I think what they mean is deepest 800m of all time. Sadly they are wrong there too.
2014 new balance nationals had 5 guys run from 1:48 to 1:49 all in the same heat. Donovan Brazier also won that race. The reason they don’t post that is because they don’t have the rights to it.
The big name factor has something to do with it to (even though two of them are the younger siblings of truly BIG names):
Hunter
Lomong
McGorty

Kind of crazy that little McGorty never made anything of himself.
i think their video subscriptions are headed to 0 - and it can't be soon enough. more and more parents and others are posting videos to you tube directly

Welcome to Tinman training
Here’s a deep track you probably haven’t heard:
My friend Ryan Locklin CCSF went out in 50.8 his first 400 and ran 1:50 in the NorCal Trials, 1999. He finished 2nd to Brian Wilkinson Modesto JC in the Finals.
Maybe I can get Ryan in here to share the story.
Can we please add this into consideration because this happened in the same year as the flotrack video and got pretty much no publicity.

Makes me sad that not a single one of these people are relevant at any level now.
if FloTrack said it it must be true, why is this a question
Most disappointing HS 800 meter race ever was the 2009 Nationals.
The Torpy bothers definitely get extra credit for wearing yellow headbands.

...and for Torpy-doing the rest of the field.

That must be the race I saw. Brazier blazes a :49 for whatever reason then nearly walks it in for a :60 second lap. Bonehead. He’s become a much better racer.
