Add her to the 9:29 watch list.
She's really blossomed as a senior. She was fine when she was young, hit a growth spurt that often derails girls but it only made her better. 4:54/4:53/4:50 her first three years and now this. And I never saw a sub 2:10 800 in her at all. Glad she proved me wrong. UVA got a steal when they recruited her. Shes college ready.
Lauren Ping (SO) was second with a 4:44.94 for the mile.
Her previous best was a 4:50 1600.
Boys mile
1 Colin Sahlman (JR) 4:04.86
Boys 3200:
1 Lex Young (SO) 8:57.27
Heh, one of the dudes on the 8:39 watch list delivered.

Lex might have a shot at the sophomore class record in the 3200/2 mile. I think Cole Sprout has it — 8:47-49 or so, I can’t recall the exact #.
Barnett ran 4:41.32/4:43.11 (1600/Mile)
Ping ran 4:43.26/4:44.94
Thorvaldson's best are 4:42.13/4:43.11
Hutchins' best are 4:44.13/4:43.33 (so her best 1600 was actually enroute to her best mile)
Brown's best are 4:43.96/4:53.97 (that mile figure must be a little outdated)
It seems to me that Barnett & Ping put themselves in the mix with some elite company the other night (especially impressive for Ping, who is still only 15).
Just ran a 2:07 800 in addition to this AND that 9:52 3200 last weekend. Her rise continues. I think that transfer to Crescenta Valley really made a difference.

Just saw this. It looks like Mia has the fastest 3200 in the country and 3rd fastest 800. It’s unusual for a high school girl to have that kind of range.
Has Jacqueline Duarte raced this season?
Now 4:39.41 for a full mile.

Watching her run as well, she has the best form out of the 2021 classs........ no doubt VA and Vin got the prize recruit out of the class of 2021! One to watch in college!!!
Just ran a 4:37 in the 16. Might have just taken that 16/32 combo all time record from Alexa Efraimson or at least come pretty dang close.
