I think this too. You reincarnate as your offspring. If you don't have offspring, you go to heaven or hell.
Not much lol

Makes no sense. When it comes to this topic, not much does.
All functions of mind stop are done, over with, not going to take place ever again. Soul and afterlife are creative ideas. Dead people don't have creative ideas so that's done, over with.
If buried, worms get you what's left.
If cremated the decomposition is forced and quick , some bone fragements survive but mostly it's ash.
If creamated , it's not a very nice cream.
Seriously, I believe we have a soul. What happens to it I have no idea.
If you loaded all of your memories into a computer and programmed it to respond exactly the way you do it is still not you.

The facts that we aren't computers and that computers are not human does not justify the creative fantasy that we have eternal souls.
What happens after you die?
I imagine it’s very similar to what it felt like before you were born.....

Some people claim they recall all kinds of pre-birth stuff., past lives and whatnot. I don't, nor do most people , but some do?

This is wild. I've never heard anyone else who thought this about offspring reincarnation. I can share a weird personal experience on this topic.

Well if you really want to know what happens after you die...there's a highway near your house...go stand in traffic and find out. Everyone's after death experience is different just as we all perceive life differently. It won't be perceived the same for everyone. Everything in the universe is a matter of perception. You have no senses in the afterlife.
In reality YOU never die. The things you humans call a soul is just energy that has awareness. It goes from one embodiment to another. It could be through reincarnation or through possession.
When you sometimes feel like you're not quite YOU, you're right in that it could be a different soul. But the soul has the same body that houses the brain which contains the same memories. This means that even though the body is inhabited by another soul, it has memories that were built by every other soul that inhabited it. This gives the impression that you're the same person. Yes, same body, but different soul. Same shared memories.
Full knowledge of how the universe works can kill you if you're not careful. It's like playing with fire. Some things are not meant to be known by any and everyone.
I have been thinking about just what do we do in Heaven? No competition, no goals, no sex, no movies, no music and they could have one hell of a band up there; So we just float aimlessly around, what do angels eat, they don't do they? I confess not too excited about Heaven, but it has to be better than Hell, unless our beliefs about it are all wrong and they actually party down there, the Devil does seems wicked and devious, would think he likes to have a good time.
I don’t believe this is actually what happens, but it’s how I try to shape my morality.
There’s a parable called ‘the egg’. The basis is that every human being is composed into one soul. You live one life, die, and are put into another one (this is assuming time isn’t linear and that it’s only a human perception). This process repeats itself until you have experienced every possible human life.
You were Jesus, and the people that crucified him.
You were Hitler, and all those he was responsible for killing.
The moral of the story is that any good/bad deed you do, you are doing to yourself in another life. So be kind to people, try to understand their point of view, and do your best to make other people’s lives better.
If you are interested in a more in depth explanation, look up ‘the egg‘ by kursegaht (or however it’s spelled lmao) on YouTube.
