He's 38 now.
I'll reveal it at midnight.
Go ahead and guess. No cheating.
I didn't realize that he used to run it all the time and has a 45.94 pb from 2009

We have a winner.

Purely based on my experience at that age. 5 seconds over my PR
First time I ever saw Yohan Blake....
Its after midnight, but i didnt look so im guessing. 56.
Dang, 50 point is pretty good. He must be in decent shape. I was imagining some extra poundage.
At 38, if completely healthy and with dedicated training, the majority of sprinters should be able to get to within about 2 seconds of their PR. Some outliers might be about half a second, others more like 3 or 4 seconds. My guess is he either just started a training program, or he isn't training that hard, or is well over race weight. Otherwise I bet he'd run faster still at this age.

I actually think you cheated. It was super easy to find.

yup just dont pull a gatlin and pretend 38 can still get you within hundredths of your PRs

I agree that he could run faster if he was really gunning for it like he was in his prime, but Powell was really a true sprinter -- the better the shorter he had to go. He ran 9.72 and "only" 19.90. He was probably no better than a 45.5ish guy if he had trained for 400m in his prime -- his PR is 45.94. So I would think at this age she should be running in the 48.xx range.
54.3
The results does not mean as much as people think, when a pure short sprinter runs a 400m, you never know the amount of effort. Almost any sub-10 100m sprinter with a max effort can run a 47x 400m. The reason why I say 47x is becasue it is the pace they are familiar with. It is the pace they run their 200m-300m intervals in. A 100m sprinter is by default trained to run a 47x 400m with relative comfort. But, since they don't actually train to run the 400m and they know it is going to hurt, it is hard to get some of them to put out a max effort. Part of being a long sprinter is accepting and being able to power through the feeling of lactic burn. Lactic burn is a feeling a short sprinter only wants to feel for a couple seconds. Sort of like why a miler does not want to run a 10K, a miler is only trained to feel tired for about 2 minutes. Long story short, if Powell is in shape, he could almost certainly run a 47x 400 if he really wanted to.
