I have decided to shave my legs the night before I run my thon this weekend. Never done it before and not doing it to reduce air friction. Just to make myself feel fast. Any thoughts?

Did you mean to say THONG?
Oh yes. If you're wearing a thong you should most definately shave.
Welcome to our team
I shaved my legs a couple of weeks ago for a race. Well, "shaved". I had done it before and got some horrible razor burn, so this time I decided to try the Veet Bladeless Razor shaving system. Not gonna lie, the plastic razor is a piece of trash, but I used a washcloth to wipe off the hair, and it came out very well. No irritation at all. Just touchably soft skin.
Also, contrary to popular belief, this will not scare off the women. In fact, I found that more ladies flock to get a feel. Good luck. And remember...LOTION EVERY NIGHT!
trying something new the night before the thon? it seems like you care more about how you look rather than what the stop watch says. what if you cut your legs all up and when your legs sweat, it gets into the cuts and burns like crazy? why try anything new the night before?
Dude, if you've never shaved, you might not want to wait unti the night before your race to do so. In the event that you nick yourself or get any razor rash you would be sorry on marathon morn.
Don't do it. You'll just end up miserable with itchy, irritated legs the morning of the race. Try it down the road when just training.
Where will you stop, how far will you go with the razor? You need to be careful with this. Don't do something stupid. When a lady sees a shaved package generally they laugh, not in a good way.
its going to save you maybe 8 seconds in a marathon. unless you are a sub 2:08 guy, its not worth it
Maybe a "lady" won't being looking at his package. Could be a homosexual runner. Does "shaving legs for a thon" sound straight to you?
It takes longer than you might think, if you havent done this before.
It will not make you even one second faster.

My thoughts are not to do it - why would you try something new the exact night before a race?? Doesn't seem to make sense. Don't bother.

So do you wear panty hose as well to make you feel even more feminine and sexyy? You f**s and closet queers on here make me sick.
Got to love the high school kids I've seen this year who shave their legs to feel fast for cross country and then proceed to wear Shaq's shorts for the race.
just hit it with some clippers. It will be smooth enough without the razor burn...some insecurity on these boards, as always...
If you do it, don't shave them the night before. Do it 2 or 3 nights before
ANYTHING TO HELP TAKE TWO MINUTES OFF THAT 4:12:32 MARATHON TIME.
