A great starting point for her after struggling with injuries all year.

agree with you...great for her. i thought she was going to drop around the 3k..she toughed it out though. Great competitor!!
1st freshman.
All things considered she done well and hung tough.
not that she hasn't dealt with it for years, but hopefully that quiets her trolls for a while.....
girl deserves tremendous credit for that run
She and NC State will win it next year. Team and individual title.
Katelyn Tuohy doubters go home devastated!
very happy for her. she seems like a good kid. I bet she's a bit disappointed in herself though.
Congratulations on 2x NCAA All-America after coming back from injury.

Yeah she was probably expecting to hang with Chmiel and Steelman. She still ran a much better race than she could've realistically expected. I hope she isn't too tough on herself. She's probably happy to beat Dudek by over a minute though.

Add to that:
Sasha Neglia - UNC - 2nd freshman
Kelsey Harrington - UNC - 4th freshman
ACC had a strong recruiting class this year.
She ran for TEAM title. We have to respect that. Congrats to her.

Yeah should be top 5 next year. Will be interesting to see what track event she ends up specializing at.

Yeah it will be nice to watch their top recruit this year and best runner finally run a Cross Country race next season. Tuohy will be the best #5 runner in the country by far in 2021, and that will give them the title over BYU!

she started struggling (losing training time w the knee) in the middle of junior year. If she stays healthy and can train hard she can run anything from mile to 5,000 at a high level in college.
She has been running since at least September - how much longer do they continue to mention she lost time due to injury -i would guess a lot of the top 40 lost some time due to injury since last June - byu girl said she only trained for 5 weeks for this race. Tuohy has been running for at least 7 months? It would be different if xc nationals were in November
I think this race kind of shows Katelyn Tuohy is a real long distance Runner. She really shines at the longer distances and tougher conditions
Haven't really heard anyone mentions she went from her freshman year in high school running an 18 minutes at Nationals, the coming back the next year and running a 1630 if you adjust for course conditions 15 seconds
So she improved buy a minute and a half in one year. I doubt any other All-American level High School Runner has ever improve so much. In other word someone who is already a top Runner making such a big leap
She's looking strong again. Getting her form back. If she can really start training again, definitely big things ahead!

She had surgery! How many runners in the field have surgery within the last year

Exactly! I don't think many runners in the field had to take several months off .Sounds like the disgruntled Dudek fan is at it again. Dude stop making crazy predictions and rooting against phenoms.
