A full strength Tuohy and a healthy Starliper are gonna make NC State just stupid good next year

How about Michigan State. They were in DFL after 1k and ended up on the podium in 4th.

Why is everyone falling over? Like 2 people took dives before getting to the line.
Also, the commentator is very confused about who is who.
Don't knock my boy Bill. ;)
But I've never heard anyone explain why all the women collapse at the finish line.
As hard as the cousre is, any chance the BYU guys wear the Vaporflys?

This is a disgustingly hard X-country course - always has been. Turf or no new turf. I guess the rain over the past few days didn't help.
Props to Tuohy - first freshman in, and an excellent run back [from injury] on a very tough course. She did better than most of us thought.
The second girl in was a surprise - OK state's Roe - only a sophomore? Pity OK state lost their top mid-long runner when Sinclaire Johnson went pro as a Sophomore last year.
It's a tough course used to be tougher. The "improvements" have made it easier and more like rolling golf course.
There really wasn't much rain the past few days.
Really glad to see Tuohy do well. NC State's Clairmonte did well considering that she is still recovering somewhat. Even if the Wolfpack had Henes it have been enough to overcome BYU.
I wonder why they do that? As a track specialist, I used to loathe racing on these tough cross country courses (OK State's course was one of my pet hates back in the 90s), but I always recognised that the 'Cross' should stay the 'Cross', and that it shouldn't just become a track race. Otherwise, what's the point of X-country season..why not just skip it as we already have indoor and outdoor track? They should make it as hard as possible, because it is a different sport. In the end, it also toughens up all the track specialists and makes them better anyway. Huge respect to those who toughed this course out and held on to it in the last 1-2 kms.

Doubt it, big springy shoes on soft springy grass just makes a big unstable mess
Camera set on Wesley Kiptoo for the next 25 mins!
NC State should have won this meet easily but they CHOKED. Coach Henes BLEW IT.
I'll eat my words if Nico Young wins, but I'm pretty sure I can go ahead and get lunch now.
This is Kiptoo's race to lose, and there are other people I would pick above Nico
I don't think people are talking about how good Amaris Tyynismaa's run was. Hasn't PR'd in cross country since 8th grade but was a freaking machine this indoor season. Fastest DMR 16oo split (4:31) before the DQ because of the 400 runner. Comes back a few days later to take 3rd in a PR on a tough course? She's going to be such a threat in the years to come. Also impressive was Nicole Fegans coming from 10th in the indoor 5k to 12th in XC. Both too underrated and overshadowed by BYU and Stanford women.
Wow. It's blowing out there.
well, whoever said this race would be a bloodbath, certainly got that right for the last km

Tuohy is an insane competitor, 24th at nationals in her first XC race of college. Excited to see what she can do next year when she has XC races under her belt not 2 3ks and 2 1200s of the DMR
yea, people like to take shots at her, but from the first time she stepped on a track she has been the toughest competitor.
I'm anticipating big drama with Kiptoo and Mantz pushing hard from the start and pulling away only to blow up the last 1k. Will they be caught tho?
I wish I could've seen it. I could not get ESPN.
WTF happened to ARKANSAS? I had them as 2nd team!???????
is there any free live stream for the race lol..i dont have cable or any provider to login with the ESPN app to watch...
I think they exceeded expections with runners coming back from injury and illness. They went out aggressive and left it all out there. No shame in losing to a great team like BYU.
Kiptoo out HARD
You called it. 2:31 at the km
First k in 2:32?

Indoors tired them out?
