The consensus seems to be that Oregon didn't declare for the team race at NCAAs. We've tried repeatedly to get Oregon coach Robert Johnsomn to confirm this but our questions have been deflected. Since our staff is mainly comprised of people who would have given an arm and a leg to run NCAA xc, it's hard for us to understand the logic of this decision.
Yes, we can understand protecting your superstars and getting them ready for track, but those guys didn't even run Pac 12s or xc this year. What about the guys who did run Pac 12s?WOuldn't they really want to run NCAA xc ?
At Pac 12s, Oregon only ran 5 people. The top man is running NCAAs individually. Wouldn't the other 4 want to go? Wouldn't you want to get your two freshmen some experience? Wouldn't the grad transfer who is giving up a year of his life run at Oregon love to run NCAA xc for the first time?
Now, it's possible one of them is hurt or didn't want to go and it would make sense that they didn't declare. So if you know what the deal is, please post it.
Here is who Oregon ran at Pac 12s.
