Doing 60 mpw with 2 workouts, a long run, and a race each week
IDK. What flavour is it?
I once ate a quart of ice cream per day for a month straight then ran a 5k PR of 1426 and I'm a miler at heart. I wasn't taking things seriously but I still managed to run well. Take it for what it's worth.
Eating junk is irrelevant as long as you're getting adequate nutritional value in other nutrient groups.
I wouldn't recommend racing every week, but the ice cream isn't a problem (unless you are lactose intolerant).
When you stop running 60mpw it may start to be a problem but mostly around your waistline.
You’re the one running and being a fatty with sweets. Why don’t YOU tell Us How it affects your running.
You can get away with it until your mid 20's or so. The metabolism has a tendency to slow down around then. That's about the time people should be making good dietary choices for the long haul as there are a lot of chronic medical problems caused by eating too much crap for too long.
Being young and doing good volume, you can eat pretty much what you like and your body will deal fine with it. Though imagine how your body would respond if you replaced those calories with food that is more nutritionally beneficial.
As an analogy, see your body as a roaring camp fire. You can chuck any crap on and the fire will burn, but put some real fuel on it and feel the temperature soar.
Does this mean we should all drink isopropyl alcohol?
