My gosh, he made that look so easy. Even a 2:21 final kilo, hardly working. Crazy.
He is just such an amazing athlete and i believe that he will go on to do great things
Great athlete who races every chance he gets, never ducks the competition. People like him will make the sport
Jakob is pretty cool guy eh? runs fast and doesn't afraid of anything
Closed around 1:53, never changed his stride or form, not the least bit of stress visible on him. He's special!
Get back to me when he can run the indoor 3000m as fast as Hocker (joke)
wait till LRP comes into the thread talking about how marcin would have won the 3000m with his monster kick if he can blah blah blah
I think with good weather and company, Jakob can go 7:24 this year.

There won’t be any more 3000 races.

Jakob is bad because he said he wouldn't run the 3k if he was DQed from the 1500, but Lewandoski is good because he didn't run the 3k when he didn't win the 1500. LRP logic.
It is funny to see the last 100m where Mo Katir (7:35 this indoor season) is sprinting 110 % whereas Jakob looks like he is just cruising.
And when Jakob "goes through the gears" the last 50m Katir is just left in the dust.
It is also obvious that many of the participants have problems by running 2 days in a row,
fore example Gressier and Butchart
Gressier apologized after the race to his fans and coaches that he didn’t perform to the level that was expected of him, and that he would now take a week off from training, and then start training again to get closer to the level that he feels he should be at which is close to the very top. Promising run from Hugo Hay, another up-and-coming French runner aged 23 Jacob is on another level from those guys. Jacob and his family may come across as arrogant but that is the way it is for them.
When Jakob moves to the front at the start, I thought "Ah, he's learnt his lesson and will lead from the front".
Then after the video skips a bit, I see he is again boxed in around 5th. Then again he has to push and pass on the inside with just under 1000m to go. Will he ever learn that it's ok to run on the outside? Despite his talent, Jakob seems immature in races -- he panics and pushes through on the inside every single time.
I wouldn't be surprised if his competitors started to not give him any lenience (similar to the Pole in the previous race) and let him DQ himself in the olympic heats?

"Andy, however, was brutally honest with his post-race assessment, feeling he didn’t do himself justice on this occasion.
‘Firstly, it wasn’t good enough,’ he told British Athletics in Torun.
‘It was a really odd race in terms of there was just no space. I don’t know what the tactics were. When the move went, I just wasn’t able to react and then when they get a jump on you, that’s it, it’s done.
‘It’s back to the drawing board. It’s good to be on the team and make a European final again and be in the top eight, but I want to be in the medals and today was just not good enough, so it’s onto the next one.’"

Jakob has IMO a kind of disguised power push in his running. You cannot see it on the body, but you can see it in the effortless speed he gets. When I see he is loosing the finish it is because the turnover is not as high as others. I have liked Filip's technique because of its beauty, but when comparing them, I think Jakob gets a tiny bit more power apparently and I really like how he runs. He has a slight lean forward that enables this, cause he can have trouble if it is slightly slippery. I do not know how this running makes it on a HM or longer, cause more power than turnover is slightly less efficient over time than a slightly higher turnover (cadence), but who cares
Yesterday the first half (at least) went so slow that he basically had a 1500m in reserve to finish off with. He did under 7.30 outdoor last year and yesterday did 20sec slower. That is nothing more than 5000 pace on average.
