Brooks Beasts 800/1500 Prediction Thread

I think I've watched pretty much all of the TAS's "Becoming a Beast" videos, so here are my predictions for their times today:

800

Windle - 1:46.5 - It looks like he's in shape, but it's been a while since he's had a good race. I figure 1:46 sounds right then.

Brown - 1:49 high - He's been injured recently, and he didn't really look that great in his last two workouts. I wouldn't be surprised to see him run slower than this, but he ran 1:50 in a time trial last summer, and I still think he's in better shape now.

1500

Kerr - 3:35.00 - He should be challenging for the win here. Looks to me like he's fit, and 3:35 seems like a good opener for a 3:32 guy.

Yorks/Ribich - 3:37 mid - It looks to me like they're in pretty similar shape from their workouts, so I think they'll finish pretty close to one another. I expect them to be a couple seconds behind Kerr, as he's clearly the best in the group and they've been behind him in workouts.

Wynne - 3:38 mid - He seemed to struggle with some of the longer workouts at altitude, but he did well at the shorter stuff.

Seems about right. I'd give the 800 guys maybe a half second faster, and slow the 1500 guys a half sec. I doubt Kerr will blast this first one, will probably run controlled through 1100 meters.

But a sub 3:36 would be a pleasant surprise.

Spencer Brown will run 1:51. Kid is not consistent at all, and if he isn’t in clear PR shape he runs very poorly.

Windle is in the field as a 2+second favorite so if he doesn't win I'll be surprised, but this is a good no-presure race for him to return to competition. He's not run well for awhile, so I'm anxious to see if hes got his head right or not because it appears he hasn't been the same guy since he debuted with the Beasts. Someone needs to tell them to go somewhere with real altitude for their training blocks. Also David R is setting up a pretty good rivalry with Nick Symmonds as the most annoying guy on social media.

Lol I was right with Spencer. Windle didn't do as well as I thought either, but I guess he hasn't raced in a long time.

I mean yeah he did finish 6th at Worlds. Strong front running.

Better 1500 conditions than 800 conditions last night. Think 1:49-high for Spencer is pretty good for a March opener in the cold. His PR is 1:49-low. Probably gets that today in warmer conditions. Would have liked to have seen him in the 1500 that went pretty fast. 3:37.5 is gonna take some work but is possible.
