PAUL CHELIMO!!
PAUL CHILL YEEEEM OHHH
12:58 C-C-C-C-COUNT IT
Is this going to be like the 10k road record he recently tried to break?
I do think that, at his peak, he was capable of getting this indoor AR. He hasn't shown me much recently to convince me he is still at his peak, though.
I'll still tune in, hoping to be wrong.
With the shoes anything is possible. Chelimo probably cannot do it but if he does, we will here numerous posters asserting it is the shoes. Others will say where is the proof? You might want to start shaving with Occam’s razor.

How did he get so good post college? He was good in college, but nothing to predict an Olympic silver or threatening 13:00. Was he injured a lot? Poor coaching? What’s the background?
With the shoes, 12:35 became possible for everyone who was running in the 12:40's and 12:50's before. Only about a 1% improvement. Magic 4% shoes, easy peasy.
Prediction, Chelimo 12:31. Buy the shoes! They will make you fast like him.
Streets are saying that the AR is toast and that he may target the 10k soon after as well. Just needs decent pacing.
I believe that also is the date that Trump becomes president again (in the Qanon world).

He was good in college? Lol. Try he was phenomenal in college!
Maybe you're not aware but you do realize he went 13:21 in college ... right?
He has mentioned this in interviews though, getting away from the collegiate system and coach and having the ability to fully focus on running. His Olympic Silver Medal should have come at no surprise after what we saw at U.S. Indoors earlier that year with his astonishing finish.
He barely made the Olympic Team because of a poorly timed, maybe not necessary, kick with about 350 to go?
Then we saw it again, just a year or two again at the Pre Classic 2 mile. Totally out of the race with 300 meters to go to a disgusting kick that almost won the race.
He can close with the best of them when he's on. Here's to hoping he can bring back another medal for the US in Tokyo!
He will get it. The shoes are worth 10 seconds. Everyone knows this. So, if he’s in 13:05 shape, the record is his.
With Nike wonder spikes his chances are greatly increased so I won’t be surprised if he gets it. At least it’s not someone from BTC.

He’s in 13:25 shape in 1960

Moreover he ran 13:21 at UNC-Greensboro, which didn’t exactly give him the training partners and environment that the Oregon boys, for instance, are enjoying.

I have to agree with all of this.
Rojo, please start putting "indoor" in front of indoor records. It's confusing.
Can he just race man? I’d rather be surprised by him now, instead of him being 0 for 4 or sum $hit lol

Agree
AR is gone. wrote:

Word is he still just keep running after shattering the 5k record. He might stop briefly to explain to this to the timing crew but the 10k record is also going down. En route. Or Ex route in this case.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
