Spencer! Didn't finish dead-last! Sub-1:50! Weren't all of the other guys real professionals?
(His main goal needs to be to make sure his girl gets healthy so she can make the Olympic team.)

2 of the best 1500 guys? Are you talking about generally for the possibility of them doing well and running low 3:30s ? It seems to me everyone else is 1-2 seconds behind Cheruiyot and Jakob Ingebrigtsen
1-2 seconds behind Cheryuiot and Jakob can still get bronze.
100% agree. Assuming Jakob doesn't get DQ'd there is only the bronze medal up for grabs. Although I hope Ingebrigtsen and Cheruiyot have a great battle for gold!

“2 of the best” does not equal “the two best.”
Allie O is unbearable to listen to.
Agreed.
Josh & Ollie look to be two of the best in the world --- they looked that way last summer in the pop-up meets which they dominated.

agreed. Comments on McColgan's height? On NAZ elite "going off"? Boring & doesn't add anything to the stream. Love when women announce but this is horrible
I love Jeff Merrill’s humor in his Tracklandia videos but it’s doesn’t translate well to race commentating ?
Anyone else lose sound?
Gwen about to DFL ?

I mean, Allie is 4-11.

And he needs to stop calling the track the "brickyard."
Agree, which is why I asked if they are "talking about generally for the possibility of them doing well and running low 3:30s ?" Of all the current 1500 m runners where would you rank Josh Kerr and Ollie Hoare? I think one of them has a chance at a medal in a championship race but it'd still be a bit of a surprise. It's such a competitive distance and if it ends up being a time trial or a tactical race can completely change the outcome.

Yeah but as Allie noted herself, she hates when announcers comment on a runner's body...then she did it.
Please can we just get Merber back on commentary? Jeff Merrill is awful and Allie Ostrander definitely isn’t helping.
Merrill sounds like a ‘70s talk show host. Way too dry to be a commentator.

As opposed to the 5000 or 10000 with Cheptegei? They have a chance maybe for bronze in 1500. You're going to have to beat some good runners to do that.

I don't how they act like Centro is the same as these other guys. He's the damn Olympic champion.
To me, Centro was great. He looked way better than anyone besides Kerr. I don't care where he finished. Centro's a lock for the team assuming he starts the Trials.
I mean I wouldn't say he was great. It's not like they were running that fast the first three laps and you can't just ignore the final 150m when half the field blew by him.
But I do think it's a big step in the right direction that he was able to start a race after scratching from his last two. Give him a few more months of healthy training (fingers crossed) and he should be fine for the Trials.
Also Rojo, do we now cancel the men's 1500 at the Trials? I think you've awarded "lock" status to Centro, Thompson, and Nuguse. May as well shut up shop.
I actually think the men's 1500 in the US is fascinating right now. Based on past results, you'd think Centro, Engels, and Thompson, but based on current form, who the hell knows? Will be fascinating to watch over the next three months.

Well, they’ve both run 3:32 already. I’d rank them both in the 5-10 range but think the chances of one picking up a medal is even better than that indicates.

+1 Love Hoare's kick. Kerr could get there in a strung out Cheryiuot time trial.
McColgan is going to be there at the end, so they better close the gap.
