Current Ivy League Runners- How you holding up not having a Heps/ not having a season?

So I'm curious how you all are doing, whether there are any plans to compete outdoors? Has there been any pushback towards the ADs/Presidents for taking a line in regards to sports that is contrary to the rest of the NCAA.

I'd say it has been shown sports can be held relatively safely, but curious what you all are being told.

So talking about a baby ? conference is okay and talking about brands like Saucony being 'woke' is okay but talking about Tracksmith's wokeness is not allowed because it's run by your baby conference buddy?

I am furious. Not that the school needs my money, but I won't donate a dime back.

They are collecting 80k per year from their students and then holding them in solitary confinement. It's sickening. They can pretend like they care so much about their students but people are starting to see through their lies.

Other schools and conferences have safely returned to competition. Football had a national championship. Turns out the "smart" people in the Ivy League are the IDIOTS that couldn't figure out how to safely have sports.

I agree with the athletes on that - too little too late as the announcement came long after the majority of the graduate programs had their application deadlines. I think it was just the conference's attempt to "save face" in the midst of this pandemic.

This Yale article explains the process of how that exemption was created by the SAAC presidents in the conference. The original intent was for all student-athletes, not just seniors.

Even if grad athletes were allowed to compete, very few undergrads are going to get accepted to their current institution for grad school and if they did, none of them will be able to do both, say Harvard medical or Columbia law or Penn business while running xc and t&f.

Princeton doesn't even have grad school!

....Of course, any student athlete who chose Ivy did it for academic reasons in the first place!

Yes indeed, overcharging amd ripping off students. Great scam they are running there. Acting as if they care about the students and alumni but its all a front because they just want the money and notoriety which gets them more money. It is sickening!

The only people paying the full 80 grand per year are the kids of the 1%ers. Most ivy kids are getting direct financial aid and over half of the students are paying only half or none of that 80 grand.

Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Columbia each have over 20 Billion dollar endowment funds which cover mist if the costs for their students that are from families making less than 250k/yr

Omg the sadness of not competing as a Ivy league athlete.

The son of my boss plays for an Ivy league school. It is ridiculous for them to not be playing, as most of the kids on the team have already had COVID (and most of them got it from girls on the soccer team that were hanging out with them) with no real ill effects. The official position of the Ivy leagues has been that they are going to trust the science and not have a season. Well the science has been out for months that this isn't really an issue for college aged kids (especially athletes), but they continue to ignore the science and hold to their unreasoned position. My only guess is they are trying to protect their endowment funds from the lawyer parents of their rich kid athletes.
