Koko is good for 30:15-30:30 in better conditions with comp
For sure, this may be her best event long term!

i would want to see sub-30 or close before i declare it better than her 14:26 5K, but there's no reason she shouldn't be better at 10k
I agree that out from Kokos level in the 5000m (and 800m and 1500m) she should be able to go below 30 in the 10000m in a fast race.
Congratulation KoKo for the NR!
Hope you will have a great outdoor season.
She has a beautiful stride but her arm swing is atrocious. Maybe your upper body is meaningless in a 10k
She held back early in the race. In better conditions she'd be a minute faster. Yes, her stride, minus the arm swing is quite graceful.
She is built like and runs like Hassan. I wouldn't mess with perfection.
She is much taller and lankier than hassan. Her arm carriage and swing is awkward and it seemed worse last night and I also had the impression that she was not comfortable behind the pace or keira at the beginning. But look at some older footage with koko vs. Hassan and eilish mccolgan. Koko's style looks far less awkward in such company.
All credit to her for running a solid race in tough conditions, but that NR was relatively soft. It wasn't like she had to run out of her head to get it.
Well, a NR is a good thing. I hope that she will be back this year to her top level. 14:20s indicates sub-30 potential, so let's hope she is up to that in the Olympics or if there is a circuit 10k in good conditions.
As i’ve said in other threads, Koko won’t hold this NR after the Olympics. I think the half marathoner Melat Kejeta will challenge for bronze in a quicker time there.

Kejata is also interested in the Marathon, MAYBE She could do both depending on the Schedule, if the 10000 is on the first Track Day and the Marathon is at least a Week Later.

My idle speculation is that she’d run the marathon instead of the 10k. And if she runs the 10k, I think she’ll have a really tough time medaling against the likes of Gidey, Hassan, Tirop, et al., even after her superb performance at the 1/2 marathon championships.
She's fast but looks unhealthy. Does she have a problem?

Nah. With that skinny build she's gonna end up a marathoner.

Kejeta has not run a strong time on track yet. I would not be surprised if she had trouble breaking 15 min 5000m despite her strong times in longer road races. There are strong female road runners a dime dozen these days but I don't think any of them has ever beaten a 3:59/8:20/14:26 runner in a high level track 10k (because these times indicate sub 30 min potential and usually a much faster finish in a slower race).
Magic shoes, male pacers and other factors seem to have led to extraordinary times on roads many athletes cannot match when running on track.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
