Let's get a Texas Qualifier prediction thread going. Who you got in the men's 1500m?
Btw all track meets/races should have hype videos like this to introduce the athletes and get people excited.
LRC Note: Here are the fields.

CRAIG ALL DAYYYYY
i thought craig was in the 5k and what happened to brazier in the 1500? centro was supposed to be there along with jager?
Not sure about the 1500.
But I predict two high school girls beat a few women in the Olympic 800.

Yea some of the top guys scratched but still a solid field with pacers at the Olympic standard.
Craig is in the 5k, video is a little misleading.
Does anyone have a start list? Looking on

it looks like there have been a few changes/drops--no more Hunter or Morgan McDonald in the 5k to name a few. Excited to see how this shakes out.

Aren’t the start lists pretty much listed in that link? There are some intriguing entries.
High schoolers Gorriaran and R. Willis in the ‘B’ 800, as well as former 1:43 man Boris Berian on the men’s side.
Ajee Wilson leads a pretty stacked W800, and we’ll get a peak at where Kate Grace is at. Isiah Harris highlights the M800.
Debues-Stafford returns to the 1500 vs. Quigley, Sinclaire Johnson, Hiltz and McGee. M1500 even without Brazier and Centro is fascinating, with J. Thompson/Gregorek/Knight/Jenkins/Willis/C. Hunter/Prakel/Robby Andrews
At 5k, Purrier and Coburn meet again and could both set PRs. For the men, James West of UO/UK takes on Hill, Bor, Erassa, and the German who raced well at the NBIGP, Thorwirth.
In the 10ks, Konstanze Klosterhalfen is the story IMO. Hopefully she’s getting back to 2019 form.
Predictions:
W800
Wilson 1:59.0
W1500
Debues-Stafford 4:00.8
W5k
Purrier 14:53
W10k
Klosterhalfen 31:15
M800
Jesus Tonatiu Lopez Alvarez 1:46.0
M1500
Thompson 3:34.8
M5k
West 13:17
M10k
Not sure if I care (I’ll be rooting for old man Chelanga)
I predict that we will find out who has survived their winter training camps and who has ended up injured.
There are a lot of athletes entered that don’t appear to be doing any actual training right now.
Lots of action both Friday & Saturday nights. Races kick off about 8pm ET. 800s, 1500s, 5Ks & 10Ks. A distance fan's dream. Friday night for those looking for U.S. Trials standard. Saturday more for those looking for Olympics standard.........https://trialsofmilesracing.com/tom/the-texas-qualifier
Looking forward to the thread with yall
Yep, I'll reserve judgement on these. impossible to guess and predict early season results.
just excited for some fast track action!

Solid predictions. You really think Konstanze goes slower than the BTC ladies last weekend?
Any clue as to where in Texas? They just experienced an 80 degree swing in less than a week. If in El Paso tomorrow night, it will be about 40 degrees, no humidity, if closer to Houston, upper 60s with humidity over 90%. With these many entrants, word has had to have gotten out.
Just a sidenote the German Women's 10000 Record is 31:03.62 by Kathrin Wiebel in 1991, Konstanze should smash that if she is anywhere near 8:20 for 3000 or dub 14:30 for 5000

That’s a good side note.
I trust that Klosterhalfen could run faster than Cranny’s 30:47 if she were in sub-14:30 shape and gunning for the fastest time possible. I’m guessing, however, that if she gets the 31:25 Olympic standard and the win it will be “mission accomplished,” and a good result for her first time out after getting injured last summer. I also expect 31:25 will be the requested pace for the field, and that if KK wants sub-31 she’d have to run a fast second 5k entirely solo.
31:15 negative split for a comfortable win would be an encouraging result if you ask me.
Charlie Hunter in the 1500m. His recent 1:45 at 800m points to great things

JK
Someone on here must know where they are running tonight?
Looks like Roisin Willis runs tonight.
