3k Predictions?
Also confused by the prizes since most of the runners are in college.

Well I don't know but it looks like the race is supposed to be paced at around 9:00 pace, and she is in with Steelman and Chmiel, so I would hope she is ready to run 9:10-9:15 (at least) otherwise what is the point? Also, no Clairmonte or Starliper shown in mile, 3,000 or 5,000.
Ryen Frazier in the unseeded mile. Didn't know she was still on the team.
anyone know the 3k entries? Don't see anyone from nc state in it

College kids can earn prize money. They just can earn more than their yearly expenses towards their sport
So they can earn prize money to cover travel, food, lodging, equipment, coaching
I was curious if say they trained out in Colorado for the summer, could all those expenses such as rent and food and travel count? I guess so if you're training for your sport
But in reality I don't think there's a whole lot of college Runners making a lot of money off races? Unless anyone knows otherwise??. So I guess if they do earn any prize money they just have to have enough expenses to offset it
Anyway that's pretty crazy that they're all doing that Pro Race. But it kind of makes sense it's only couple hours from NC State. And it's pretty good prize money. Probably like a hundred K in total
So it's a flat 200m Mondo track. I don't know I guess they're all in pretty good shape that they feel they can be competitive
I'd have to think at least sub 9:30. It's kind of funny her first race as a college Runner isn't even a college race.
I bet she probably jogs it in about 10 minutes, while blowing kisses and giving fist bumps to the crowd...
then signs a bunch of autographs, poses for selfies, hobnobs with track elite, and collects a $5,000 appearance fee
And then takes her whole team out for a fancy dinner to make sure she can claim the money all went to expenses!

The cynical cesspool of Lets Run.
, calm down Larry. Don't get your feathers all ruffled, seems like an obvious joke
They're traveling with their college, so there are no expenses they need the money for. So it would not be good if she accepted the money. But that whole thing was rubbish, you should be able to accept it. The money isn't coming from the university. I won prize money in summer races and wasn't on full scholarship. It would've been nice to accept prize money from non NCAA races just to help pay for college.
I'm not an expert or anything. But I know that you can allow prize money to offset expenses for the whole year
So it's not like it has to offset expenses just for the meet you attend and get the prize money
Again I don't know every detail and I'm not sure if it can count against summer training travel and Rental expenses
But technically you can accept prize money as long as you have yearly expenses associated with your sport
Yeah I agree that most Runners at Big Time programs probably get all their expenses paid by the school but I'm sure you could find some expenses especially if you count summer training.
So what is her injury status? She is back from the surgery, and training well? Is she doing any additional training modalities that she wasn't doing a couple of years ago?
She is not 100%, so I predict around 9:20.
She wouldn't race if not ready. Sounds like the big fans will be saying that forever if she runs 9:20 forever.
Thanks.
I see Rachel Schneider is entered in both the mile and 3000m. How close will she get to the flat track WR in the 3000m?

The flat track WR bonus is $1000, whereas, the difference between 1st and 2nd is $2000. Maybe Rachel will 'just' go for the 9:00 time bonus ($1000) and the win in the 3000m, and forego going after the flat track WR (8:51.49), in order to save something for an attempt at the win in the mile later, yeah?
Anyone know why is the track flag? Why not have a bank track?
Those hydraulic banked tracks are probably more expensive.
Will they install some pace lights at Camel City???
They said that they would be happy to do it if you donate the $10M. Silly question. It is like asking why everyone doesn't drive a $100k car or live in a $1M house.
This is just a knock-the-rust-off jog for KT. But everyone is missing the bigger picture. Tuohy at the XC championships, yeah baby!
