I don't understand why someone would run an event that will get you nowhere at the NCAA meet. After all, that's what it's all about.
Why waste your time running an event that is not run at the national meet, especially during covid. You run a good time in the 1000m, next day NCAA track is cancelled and the 1000m you ran is now moot.
Focus on the events sanctioned by the NCAA.

Torrence was one of my first idols, loved watching him finish crazy fast races
I met David before and he really enjoyed running and loved the sport.

They should go back to running the 500/1000 at the NCAA. Made indoors a lot more unique.....
