Just announced today (2/8):

Somewhat surprised they are in this meet rather than the TX Qualifier a week later where the rest of the BTC will compete (e.g., Sinclair Johnson & GDS in 1500 confirmed in their Prickly Pear Invite post-race interviews).

Our sport is so silly sometimes. The Texas Qualifier is a week later & has Sisson, D'Amato, Hall, and Conley all confirmed.
-
We’re going to see some seriously fast times. 27:10?
Where is Ahmed? -
This is why people hate on the BTC, there is an excellent opportunity a week later, but nope, gotta do our own small thing
-
I'm interested to see how Gwen, Elise, and Karissa do in a 10k. I think Infeld looks good, she could absolutely make the team if she stays healthy until the summer.
-
I see that Conley has switched from the Texas Qualifier to this Meet. I am told that others that entered the Texas Qualifier 10k will also be switching to this Meet.
Sound Running has already shown they know how to do things. I would bet on Jesse Williams and the Bowerman group over Texas Qualifier. -
My guess would be that Cranny and perhaps Fisher are going to be pacers for their teammates. I am looking forward to seeing Derrick in a longer race. I am still rooting for him!!
Does anyone know if this will be streamed? -
Then why did Sound wait so long to put this on? This is the sport cannibalizing itself in a nutshell.

I was wondering the same thing. I know the Texas Qualifier the following week will be streaming on YouTube -
Cheserek also confirmed.
Look for extremely low 27, if not sub 27 from Kincaid and Scott. We already know that Kincaid turned the corner in 2019; but Scott seems to have also ratcheted it up a notch.
Odd to see people bîtching about something like this. -

This Meet took place because Jerry did not have confidence in the Trials of Miles crew being able to pull it off. 10k takes a different type of knowledge to pull off than a 1500 or 800. -
It's 25 laps around a 400m track... not a whole lot to it, just show up and compete and the times take care of themselves
to badger miler, I'm more bitching about diluting fields between two races now, Jerry dodging other competition (what else is new in the past year especially) isn't exactly badger tough as some like to say, the fans want the big guns on the same track in these brutal times, so it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth that all of a sudden they're doing something else a week prior, behind a runnerspace+ paywall no less -

What part of Kincaid's 3000m in AZ makes you think he can run extremely low 27/sub 27? -

this may come as a surprise to you but the athletes and agents know details of what races are going on and plan accordingly. Just because you heard about this meet last week doesn't mean it was put together last week -
This may come as a surprise to you... but very fair point. My overall point is it's frustrating there now seems to be these two competing events just a week apart, without any collaboration. Is there much of a financial incentive for athletes for either event outside of time-related bonuses? Maybe, maybe not, we'll likely never know. One will be behind a paywall for fans to watch, the other won't. Obviously Jerry's athletes don't need extra exposure, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

My thoughts exactly.
He ran 7:46 which is like a 13:20+ 5k. -

This is about the time CD goes on Instagram to tell everyone he’s in great shape before proceeding to DNF. Put the over/under at 28:30 for him. He’d be lucky to stick with leaders for half the race and that’s going all out. Must be only getting gear from Nike at this point. -
Possibly The TEN is being held on a freshly resurfaced track in cooler weather conditions than Austin. Just a guess.
Also a guess: Cranny, Schweizer & Fisher are rabbits. Just don't think Jerry would move them up to the 10k after having displayed so much talent in the 1500, 3k and 5k over the past 12 months.
The women's race is clearly set up for Infeld & Jorgensen to chase the 31:25 Oly standard.
However, from the BTC American men's 5k crew, Woody Kincaid appears to be the candidate to move up to the 10k along with Lomong & Derrick.
Happy to see more entrants from other teams piling in. Sound Running/Jesse Williams created a really good impression after the Track Meet back in December. At least, now, no worries about needing at least 3 runners complete each race to make them official. -
Is Marielle Hall racing a 10k anywhere? I am assuming she already has the standard from Doha, but I love seeing her race.
