Hi all, I started running back in April 2020, struggled my way up to the 8 km mark in about a month's time. My 8 km time in May '20 was around 46 min (don't remember the exact time in seconds, but it was 46 min). I've gradually gotten used to it, running 8 km around 3 times a week and now my best time is 34 min 3 s (I know that the community here has many accomplished runners who may scoff at that time).
From the experienced folks I'd like to ask - what's usually a good rate of improvement in running times? I have no idea what the trajectory of time reduction looks like - I imagine the improvement may be rapid at first and then the rate of improvement slows down.
For example, my next milestone is 32 min, then 30 min, then 25 (though I admit at this point I'm not sure if I can ever reach 25 min). How long do you think it should take me to reach these milestones?
