LRC note. The thread was inititally titled, "Keely Hodgkinson 1’59’03" but we changed it as we and many others totally missed the significance of this great run.

She moves very easily. I had not seen her run before. If I were her I'd take a shot at the 1000m indoor record and maybe attempt the 1500/Mile.. looks very fit and smooth.

How in the world did I not hear of this run until today? I would have raved about it on our podcast.
What a talent. She won the British indoor and outdoor titles in 2020. And now runs 1:59 flat at 18?

If you watch the race video, her third lap looks INCREDIBLE but it's a bit misleading as everyone else was massively slowing down as people got out super hard. Her splits were something like 28.6, 29.6, 30.6, 30.2
Her official 600 split was 128.83.

She had to go the long way round on that third lap so she could have gone <1.59 on a better day

Looked it up both are the same age both born in 02 they were born 3 months apart, what a great rivalry they will have for the next 10-15 years.
