Recommendations for Mile/5k

The newest victory XC waffle should be good for road 5Ks.

I’ve ran a few road 5ks in the spike version with the spikes taken out and I ran a road PR for one of those races.

Enjoyed my 5280s on the track. Haven’t had a chance for the roads as all the mile races were cancelled. Not sure if I would wear them for a 5k but interested to hear if others do.

The speed requirement I heard for the 5280s was 5:30 mile, which you are well under. I am slower ( just under 5:30) but really enjoyed how they feel.

Not the point of your post but how does one convert a 4:5x mile into a 15:30x 5k? That is pretty incredible!

Oh yes. This question. I don’t actually run the mile as my main event. Usually, it is the 5k or the 10k(the most painful event though it is only one or two every season). My workouts contained mostly threshold stuff, with one or two 200m reps every season.

Well, i love the mile so I usually try to get into a few of those smaller races. It was something that was easy and common to challenge with your friends. Over these shorter distances, I struggled to put out speed without my arms flying everywhere and losing form. This is something that I am keen on working on once im out of school.

I guess you are probably a miler. Beast y’all are. As for converting... I guess it will be more of how a 5k time represents a mile time.
