Missed out on Tesla a bunch of times. I was all ready to buy it a year ago and just didn't seal the deal! It's 10 times higher since then
All right let's hear everyone's pics for best stocks for the next year, 5 years, 10 years?

A few I'm in:
AAPL - obviously a stable company, holding AAPL is probably just as good as holding treasury bills if not better
AMD - with Intel's future troubles, AMD is poised to take a larger slice of the CPU market. No reason why their market cap shouldn't be as large as NVDA if they're able to scale manufacturing
PLTR - ML/analytics company, has a lot of government contracts and should be able to grow in the consumer sector with the further adoption of AI
ICLN - clean energy ETF. Green energy should grow a ton in the next decade, but it has a long way to go before it really becomes viable. Some companies will succeed and other will probably fail. I just hold the ETF in order to get exposure to the industry.
I also hold VOO of course. If I had more money I would invest in GOOG, AMZN, MSFT, NVDA and maybe TSLA...although I find it hard to see how TSLA is going to keep growing.
Check out the “Down goes the DOW” thread. Lots of good advice and recommendations there. Just be sure to ignore any posts from “Ghost of Igloi”. That guy is clueless.

Lol, Ghost of Igloi has predicted 1089 of the last 2 recessions.
With a 2 trillion dollar stimulus bill, buy everything!
The Fed is gonna prop up the entire market!
Cheers to income inequality baby!
I realize past performance does not predict future performance, but three huge winners for me over the past six months have been:
PTON - Peloton. You might have missed the massive growth, but there still could be opportunity. I have 433% growth since last April.
SITM- SI Time. A company that makes timing devices to put in computers and such. I have 323% growth since last August.
SPT - Sprout Social. Social Media monitoring for businesses. 267% growth since last April.
I also bought ZOOM stock in September 2019, but I think that bubble has reached its peak and I will probably sell some off soon.
Well, I'm already up 400% on GME this morning
Short TSLA, buy VWAGY. VWAGY price to book = 0.73, P/E = 23.57, TSLA - P/B = 47.51, P/E = 452.26. VWAGY and Renault looked poised to be tops in the European EV market for the near future (not to mention they make traditional cars, hybrids, etc. and are far more profitable than Tesla). Unfortunately for TSLA, they are a car company, not a tech company and they are not very good at making cars (oh wait, they also make solar panels and have always lost money doing that and the only reason they bought Solar City was to save their board members investment in that failed company that was losing 80 cents on the dollar at the time they overpaid for it). Buy mining stocks that are heavily invested in copper mining (RIO and SCCO, although a lot of their appreciation has already taken place in the past few months) and electric utility stocks (XEL, DUK). The "beneficial electrification" and EV movement that will be pushed by the Biden administration will require a complete overhaul of the nation's electric utility grid, electric service upgrades in people's houses and a whole lot of copper and new transmission lines, transformers, etc. I'm torn with what to do with natural gas stocks / funds. Typically when there is a movement for renewable energy, it increases demand for natural gas, however, with the threat of a fracking ban (2/3 of US natural gas comes from fracking), it's a difficult call. You really can't expand renewables without increased use of natural gas, so it will be interesting to monitor how that hammers out.
All in $PSTH calls and commons. Split 50/50. Freed up some money this morning to buy $GME puts when it reached 90$. 85$ strike price expiring 1/29
I believe the degenerates of Wallstreetbets would call me a gay bear..
I bet you're wrong about Tesla! I bet it doubles over the next year. Which means you are way wrong Tesla such a slam dunk I can't believe I was so dumb not to buy! Electric cars, great Battery Technology, solar, and well ahead of the competition All three of those things are the future! Guaranteed! And they've got the name recognition like apple so I guess that's their really big thing, which is brand. Anyway it might be worth a separate thread but I would definitely bet on the fact that it is going to double again over the few years.
Pelosi just bought TSLA, I wouldn't short it. That old bat knows there are more EV credits coming.
I'm in GRVY - a South Korean gaming company. Their games are huge in East Asia (SK, Japan, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong). South-East Asia is a booming video game market. They're also trying to get a license to release games into China. If they do (they'll have to partner with Tencent) big big money. Their financials are excellent. Currently valued at 1.3 billion. I bet it will be $10 billion+ in a couple years.
Lots of stocks will go up, but not many will go up 10x. My pick for 10x is RIDE - Lordstown Motors.
They are selling a light electric truck, but with a focus on fleets. 100k+ preorders with deliveries starting this year. Next year they are forecasting 32000 deliveries which will result in $1.6B in revenue. Current valuation is just $4B.
NIO -> delivered ~30k vehicles in 2020 -> Stock rose to $98B valuation
XPeng -> delivered ~25k vehicles in 2020 -> Stock rose to $44B
Once deliveries start, FOMO will happen and it could shoot to $40B like other EV plays have already done.

Gold Mining stocks are the way to go now. As the US trashes the dollar and Gold goes up mining stocks go up significantly more as their profit vastly increases.
Emerging market stocks in several Asian countries are also solid buys right now.
Quit gambling big and grab your easy 10 to 30% while you still can, because the market is already stalling.
Shift over to dividend stocks, there's plenty paying 5% or close to it reliably. I've gotten 11% from a Nasdaq ETF called QYLD for about a year. That might last longer than stuff based on the other indices.
Why would Tesla double? Its market cap is already higher than the 10 largest car manufacturers combined (you know, the ones that actually turn a profit and have a book value close to the stock price, not 50 times the book price like Tesla). Volkswagen and Renault are already out competing them in the European EV market. Tesla has always lost piles of money in the solar market and is behind most of its competitors there. Its new cybertruck (which looks like Homer Simpson designed it) was rated behind the Ford F-150 all electric by a wide margin and a number of other brands (some of which nobody has ever heard of). Its share of the market is dropping and the increased competition will continue to erode their margins. In short, it is a car company, that will eventually be valued like other car companies (you know, Price to Book close to 1, Price to Earnings between 15-25) as they continue to lose market share to other car manufacturers like VW, Ford, Toyota, etc. When the earnings of a company are fractions of a cent on every dollar of valuation, there are better investment opportunities.
