You are misinterpreting what he said by putting words in his mouth when you say "he did something he isn't proud about". That is how hateful gossip and rumormongering starts.
Yeah that’s not what he said.
I have no clue.. but my guess is someone yelled something negative at him.

Interesting idea. I was thinking it may have been something like a stomach issue, like maybe the bobo bar wasn't sitting right with the two fingers of coffee and banana.

Er, half-a-banana.

What you you taking about? He said he did something he wasn't proud about and was debating if he should say it or not. That is almost word for word.
He said something happened that he could use as motivation around the 5 mile mark. There was nothing more to it than that. I thought it was weird he even brought it up if he wasn’t going to share it. Completely unnecessary. Almost like he was just trying to stir things up
Here is exactly (not verbatim, with extraneous words removed):
09:43
i hesitated here everyone to share this with you
...something happened in the race at mile five that i've only told to true love
i'm not gonna tell everyone because i never want to be a racer that makes excuses
...it's something that happened around mile five...
...it's nothing to do with any other racers or anything on the course or anything like that
...it's something that i can now take with me and use as fuel for the next training block
...there's also moments i think where it's good to discern and figure out okay when should i...maybe keep something for me to use as fuel and that's a that's a situation right
now
...and it happened right around mile five, so i'm going to leave it there

It is the "wasn't proud about" part that you got wrong.

This could make sense with what he said. Maybe somebody even threatened him, and maybe even flashed a weapon? Whatever it was, it may have been enough to momentarily shake him, but he said he didn't want it to come off looking like he was making excuses if he shared it.
Regarding this part, "...there's also moments i think where it's good to discern and figure out okay when should i...maybe keep something for me to use as fuel and that's a that's a situation right
now"
If someone threatened him, or said something to invoke fear, maybe even threatening his family, I've changed the above quote to fill in some blanks:
"...there's also moments i think where it's good to discern and figure out okay when should i...stop the race and directly confront them, get their name, and/or call the cops...(or) maybe (just) keep something for me to use as fuel and that's a that's a situation right now"

It's at about 10:33 into the video. He seems to say he isn't going to use it as an excuse, nothing with the race or course, but something happened and he will use it as fuel. He only shared it with his wife and he isn't going to use it as an excuse. I am leaning more to the upset stomach thing, but someone yelling something at him or harrassment of some sort could be possible since he said it wasn't the races fault and he used it as fuel. This could be a possibility.
it sounds to me like he was thinking about cutting the course

If he said nothing on the course, it has to be the stomach issue. But why not say that?

I don't mean this in a negative way, but how old are you? Please read the whole thread again. I'm tending to now agree with 'Kenaneeser Beckelay' (and I thought you were too) that it quite likely was an external influence, a negative comment, or even a threat from a bystander. I think that makes more sense with everything he did and did not say about it, rather than a stomach issue.

He says it's nothing with the course, race, or anything ON THE COURSE. People yelling or harassing him have to be on the course. Did they do it over the phone, or internet, or from far away. No on the courses and he says it's nothing on the course. What is it then ? A physical issue?

I agree that the "ON THE COURSE" is not clear, but I think he was going out-of-his-way there to make the point that the Race Directors are not responsible for what happened, and the course itself had nothing to do with what happened.
People yelling or harassing him have to be on the course.
Not if they are off to the side of the course. The course went through publicly accessible streets.

On the course, means out there. You're on the course if you're out there. It's not a track. Someone yelling on the course route would imply this. And how would someone yelling something at him for a second be worth a mention? And mean did they case him? No, it's more or less a physical issue, unless he has super thin skin. maybe a dog chasing him? But still it's on the course. It's definitely physical.
I'm not going to disagree, since I don't know what it was, but how does a physical issue jibe with something that he will "take with me and use as fuel for the next training block"?
