Hi, for the track season base i have been doing most of my mileage and workouts on grass rather than my other option the road, i notice when i run on grass, i feel better and feel like my legs are healthier from the less impact.
Is there any disadvantages of this that could slow me down for track season other than ankle rolls?
I think its fine as long as you get in some legit hills in.
Running on the grass is great, definitely helps to decrease impact. I would not run exclusively on the grass though, mix in some dirt trails, roads and like someone else said hills.
2 reasons, the adjustment from grass to track is a big one for your body, if your body hasn’t had some pounding you will almost certainly get hurt going from grass to track and spikes. Second reason is running mechanics can be a bit different on the grass and you don’t want your running economy to suffer.
