I still think he gets it. He knows exactly where he is time wise. Not like he doesn't know how close he is.

Which 95k split is right? He passed 95k in 5:50:19 on the broadcast, but the timing site says 5:49:55. It could make or break the record
I had 18:56 for last 5K to break WR.
God. I love TOni normally but Jim hits 5k to go and there is no announcement of he needs an 18:54 to get the record. But hats' assuming the clock on the screen is right.
What a disappointment. The clock on the screen says his 95k time was 5:50:20 meaning he needs an 18:54 to tie the record. I assume this is right.
However, his online split says 5:49:55. That would mean he needs 19:19 to get it.
How in the world can the online split not be right when they are dropping hundreds of thousands on this?

18:40 for the 5k split through 95k. Digging deep and looking realistic that he could do it.
OK this is an issue. The TV had the 95k split as 5:50:19. Timing site shows 5:49:55. That 24 second difference might be the difference.
If it was 5:50:19 he needs an 18:55 final 5k after having run 19:04.
If it was 5:49:55 he needs an 19:19 after having run 18:40.
Record is 6:09:14
i'm g oing to assume the mark on the ground was correct. He needs the faster time.
Yeah, that's crazy. The screen clock seems like he might miss it but online he'll get it. What the?!
Timing site likely is off. Eric (?) the guy in the car had his watch running. He went through the mat a 5:50:19 on the car clock and 5:50:16 on Eric's watch. So the timing site looks to be off.
I think time on screen is wrong, because when Jim passed 95K the guy on the car was counting and it was like 10s less then the time on screen.

Looks like it is going to be close, but he can make it, still going.
He's going to get it!!!
Wobbly but just strong enough.
incredible finish,,,,
That is unlucky, 11s off :(
Eric, in the car did not give him good splits at the end.
Missed by 15 seconds.
Utmost respect for him.
Brutal, missed it by 11 seconds.
Rojo complaining about race commentators? I’m shocked. He never does that.
Holy crap. What a frigg'in effort. Major kudos. 19:30 last 5K
Jim GOES HOME DEVASTATED
