Allie Keifer should be running this. She could team up with Brad again.

First few hours were good. Last couple hours not so good.
Jim ran 4:55 for 50 miles so did not get that record but he is looking really steady for the 100k distance. His stride looks relaxed and steady and basically unchanged so he may be having a pretty great day from the looks of it.
Yep. Big Jim is a lot better athlete than he was a couple of years ago. In the past, he would have swung for the fences a ms tried to break both. Instead he's been more conservative than usual, and is going to crush the 100k world record today. He's the best we've ever seen and this is so great to watch.

Been watching off and on. When did Jim cut his shoulder? Was it on the broadcast. I’d like to go back and see it
About the 50K mark. He ran into a fence weaving around one of the women and that woman's pacer. It was not shown live but they went back and showed the incident from a couple of angles.
Actually about the 55K Mark. 3:24 or 3:25 on the men's race clock. They show the replay at about 3:32 on the men's race clock.
You're funny. They've got commentators who have been world class, and who have winning ultramarathon experience.
I do feel like he looks noticeably less smooth the last few times they've shown him. Hopefully he can hold it together.

Sure, but if this was a mile race, he'd be in the final 300. I think he can still do it.

This coverage is as bad as NBC's Olympic coverage but at least we don't have to listen to Tom Hammond.
I'm gonna disagree. I think the coverage is pretty good. Hoka doesn't have anywhere near the resources as NBC sports and all the commentators know running, are speaking knowledgeably about the sport, and providing relevant and interesting information.
Passing 85k he split 18:31 for the last 5 k. Definitely a touch slower. He always talks about how he likes battling through the tough low points, that might be now.
What's up with Jim's shoulder? Did he fall earlier?
Just a little boo boo.
Can't wait to bring back up all the old threads about "Jim can't race 100km"... blowback from that 50m World Record.
Eat it, suckers!!
We are about to see a world record.
Fernando Cabada doing better than I expected.
reed, you can eat crow already.
Jim one lap to go.
I honestly can't believe he's still ahead of WR pace. I wouldn't have bet $5 on that before. Hell of an effort.
Given what I've heard of the conditions when the WR was set (decent tailwind for a bunch of the course and nice weather?), his effort is even better.
Hello!!!Pain Cave!!!
19:09 for last 5k. Gonna be close.
