Normally I would be inclined to disagree with sham, but this is a good take.
Winning a single national title (XC) is not enough, you’d have to win multiple titles indoors, outdoors, and obliterate everyone while doing so too.
Probably depends on level of competition that year and your PRs. If ur a 14:10 and 29:30 guy who won a National title one time then probably not. But if you are dominant and run 13:40 or 28:40 then you are most definitely pro material. Also if you are somewhere in between those times but regularly beat guys that hit the faster end of those times in championship races, then there’s also a good chance for you to be noticed by a few brands. Of corse the times I chose are arbitrary to an extent but I think it’s a fairly accurate estimate.
