Brandt is a 6th year.
He just ran one of the best collegiate 10ks ever.
He could stay at Gtown even tho he’s been at flag or go pro now?
Maybe Tinman would want him lol
But for real dude take the money and run

How the heck does he train so well in DC? Just running on the canal trail every day???
Didn't he just graduate from UCLA a year ago? He's probably just started his Masters so maybe he'll want to stick with that. In the end, the value of a degree from Georgetown is more than the B-level contract he could get right now.

He might be at Georgetown to get an education (I know, shocking)....not everybody has to go pro right away...
You have to go sub 27 to be "pro."
Even then Cheptegei would get close to lapping you.

might as well further his education and use your last year of outdoor eligibility and get a 10k title (definitely the favourite now after 8th last year)...sounds like a good plan...
You think being one of the best collegiate Americans ever is deserving of a "B" level contract? I think it'll take a few more races of that caliber but he could be well on his way to being one of the best born and raised Americans in the sport.
Don’t think he’s ever been to DC, I follow him on strava and he’s mostly been training in flagstaff and mammoth. I’d assume Georgetown are online due to covid
Stay in college and then hut up the ultra scene. There is money to be made there.

1. He doesn't live in DC.
2. Plenty of great spots to train in DC. Definitely underrated from a running perspective.
Stay with NCAA unless he gets a good offer, I think. Idk what kind of money might be available this spring, what with the Olympics getting pushed a year. But if he manages to win a title (assuming NCAAs aren't cancelled), that's worth a lot.

Right now he's deserving of Weini Kelati level money. He may not get that because there's no guarantee anyone has that kind of money still sitting in their budget. Not even Dark Sky.
I’m surprised with all the pro gtown people here. Nothing against gtown but take the money and run.
What would NAZ offer him now? Like 50k base?
Lol at those staying he should stay in college.
He should absolutely go pro if he can. He can always gets the degree later on.
And even though might get more money with the degree and a job, but he'll be working 8-10 hours a day.
While maybe he will make 25% less, but only work like what 2 hours a day ?
I don't think she got much. She could have gotten a bit more had she waited a week. He could probably get $25K per year.
Deer Morans,
You wait until AFTER Tokyo when a lot of athletes get dropped and there's going to be a LOT more money available all over and you don't have to wind up training and racing in Under Armour or ON.
You would be nuts to throw away a master's from Georgetown for $50k. I don't know exactly how they structure these deals, but if they're contractors the take home would be less than you think.
50k might be a generous guess, given that he hasn't won anything and isn't a shoe-in to the Olympics team, too. Plus, there's nothing going on this spring that's worth forgoing your shot at an NCAA title.
There is no money in pro running. Way more value in getting a graduate degree from Georgetown over the long term. What is with you people? Plus he is probably on full scholarship at Georgetown....probably worth more than a pro contract.
lol no way he's on a full they are broke rn
I normally argue the opposite, but not this time. They are fully funded and really not that loaded right now so he probably is on a large scholarship.
