You should have at least 1 year of eligibility for grad school. Your “clock” for d1 starts when you start college full time and you have 5 years to complete 4 years of competition... you may have extra eligibility due to covid blanket waivers so it is possible if you start in fall 2021 you may have 2 years of eligibility.
NCAA D1 has a five calendar year clock rule regardless of whether you were on a team. If you took time off after your undergrad, you will be out of eligibility. As the person above noted, if you did four years of undergrad straight into grad school, you will have one year of eligibility.
NCAA D2 and D3 have a slightly different clock rule. It’s 10 semesters or 15 quarters to use up your four years of eligibility. Again, if you finished your undergrad in less than 10 semesters or 15 quarters, you will have eligibility for however many remaining semesters or quarters are left.
NAIA on the other hand does not have a clock rule so you will have four years of eligibility.
