To the gentlemen of LRC:
Today on a lovely 11 mile run in 30 degree weather, I felt quite cold in a certain area. It was so cold that I physically felt pain. Is this normal? What do you guys to to prevent yourself from freezing?
I was wearing short shorts which might have made a difference, however if im hurting at 30 degrees in short shorts, not even tights and underwear will keep me safe at 5 degrees.
Dude, just wear tights. Put some compression underwear on and wear tights. They don't have to be fleece-lined or any of that crap. And you will actually be comfortable instead of pretending to be comfortable like every high schooler and mediocre college runner does. And your peter won't freeze.
60 degrees + short shorts
45-60 half tights with compression boxer briefs
0-45 pants, half tights, compression boxers
Sub 0 (coldest run I’ve done is -33 air temp/-50 wind chill) pants, long tights, half tights, compression boxers
I froze it a couple times in high school. Never again. You are warm when you run in July, no reason not to be warm in January!
Get some quality tights and either running briefs or boxer briefs.
I even wear heat gear tights during the summer to not get skin cancer...
